12/17/17 - Middle Tennessee quarterback Brent Stockstill overcame three interceptions to throw for 232 yards and two touchdowns Saturday night as the Blue Raiders outlasted Arkansas State 35-30 to win the highest-scoring Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. Stockstill's 30-yard touchdown pass to Shane Tucker with 12:08 left in the game gave Middle Tennessee (7-6) a 35-23 lead. The Red Wolves (7-5) drew within five points on a 41-yard scoring strike from Justice Hansen to Christian Booker with 5:03 remaining. Arkansas State got the ball back at its 9-yard line with 1:27 left and no timeouts. It reached its 47, but Hansen was sacked on the final two plays of the game to clinch the Blue Raiders' first bowl victory since the 2009 New Orleans Bowl. Stockstill completed 19 of 35 passes, while Hansen was 31 of 57 for 337 yards with three scores and an interception. The Red Wolves' Justin McInnes caught seven passes for 107 yards, including a 20-yard scoring strike with 6:19 left in the third quarter. - The Sports Xchange
11/25/17 - Terelle West set career highs with 26 carries, 170 yards and two touchdowns to help Middle Tennessee become bowl eligible with a 41-10 win over Old Dominion on Saturday. The sophomore running back also had three catches for 25 yards for the Blue Raiders (6-6, 4-4 Conference USA). It was only the third game for West with more than 10 carries. He was originally favored to start at the beginning of the season but missed time due to injuries. The Monarchs (5-7, 3-5) took the early lead on Nick Rice's 26-yard field goal in the first quarter. But Middle Tennessee took over from there, scoring the next 41 points before Old Dominion notched its only touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Brent Stockstill was 21 of 30 for 266 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions for the Blue Raiders. Ray Lawry ran 14 times for 97 yards for Old Dominion. - AP College Football
11/11/17 - Brent Stockstill threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns to become Middle Tennessee's all-time passing leader, Tavares Thomas ran for two scores, and the Blue Raiders beat Charlotte 35-21 on Saturday. Thomas gained a career-high 195 yards on 29 carries, and his 2-yard TD run tied it at 7 early in the first quarter. His 4-yard scoring run capped a drive during which Stockstill broke the school record with a 47-yard completion to CJ Windham. Stockstill hit Ty Watkins and Ty Lee for a 28-7 halftime lead and later connected with Patrick Smith on a 4-yard scoring pass. Benny LeMay scored on a 6-yard run on Charlotte's opening drive. Tavares Thomas had nine carries for 68 yards and a touchdown and Ty Lee had six receptions for 80 yards and a score for Middle Tennessee (4-5, 2-3 Conference USA). Canon Rooker hit a career-long 51-yard field goal to open the scoring and, two plays after Ruben Garnett's 8-yard run on fourth-and-3 from near midfield, Stockstill hit Lee for a 25-yard touchdown to make it 10-0 going in to the second quarter. Jimmy Marshall's 5-yard scoring reception capped an 11-play, 82-yard drive - including a 27-yard pass from Stockstill to Shane Tucker on fourth-and -5 - to make it 17-0 at halftime. UTEP (0-9, 0-5) went three-and-out on the opening possession of the second half and Thomas scored on a 2-yard run to make it 24-0 early in the third quarter.
