12/05/17 - Four of the six quarterback spots for the Senior Bowl are now confirmed: Virginia's Kurt Benkert (6-3, 225, 4.92, #6), Washington State's Luke Falk (6-3, 225, 4.87, #4), Richmond's Kyle Lauletta (6-2, 215, 4.86, #5) and Western Kentucky's Mike White (6-3, 215, 4.87, #14). The final two spots are for Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield (6-0, 218, 4.65, #6) and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph (6-4, 230, 4.83, #2), but neither has accepted the invite yet. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
11/21/17 - 1015889|2017 CAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES): Kyle Lauletta, Richmond...Lauletta made a remarkable comeback from a serious knee injury to post a record-setting season for the Spiders. The senior completed 281-of-433 passes for 3,737 yards and 28 touchdowns and also ran for four TD's. Lauletta ranked third in FCS in passing yards (353.9 ypg), fifth in total offense (347.9 ypg), fifth in passing TD's and 13th in pass efficiency (153.2), all of which led the CAA. He threw for over 300 yards in eight of 11 games and his passing yardage and touchdown totals set UR single-season records. Lauletta, who is one of 25 finalists for the Walter Payton Award as the top offensive player in FCS football, became Richmond's career passing leader and ranks fourth in CAA history with 10,465 yards. - Colonial Athletic Association Football
11/04/17 - Kyle Lauletta passed for 259 yards to become the 10th player in FCS history to pass for 3,000 yards in three straight seasons and Richmond breezed to a 22-0 victory over Villanova on Saturday. Lauletta completed 25 of 32 passes and also ran for 46 yards and a touchdown for the Spiders (5-4, 3-3 Colonial Athletic Association), who snapped a seven-game skid at Villanova. Lauletta has thrown for 3,212 yards this season. The Spiders rushed for 175 yards against the Wildcats (4-5, 2-4), who came into the game allowing just 57.8 yards per game — second in the FCS. Xavier Goodall carried 19 times for 116 yards and a score for Richmond. True freshman Kyle McCloskey completed just 6 of 17 passes for 90 yards, with 60 yards coming on Simon Bingelis' lone catch. It was McCloskey's second career start. Richmond has played ranked opponents in seven of nine games this season. - AP College Football
09/16/17 - Kyle Lauletta threw for a school record six touchdown passes and Richmond cruised to a 68-21 win over Howard on Saturday. Richmond (2-1) scored seven touchdowns on its first eight drives and led 48-7 at halftime, setting a school record for most points in a half. The Spiders' 34 second-quarter points also set a school record for most points in a quarter. Lauletta threw two touchdown passes - one a 70 yarder - to Porter Abell, as well as scores to Tyler Wilkins, Cortrelle Simpson, Gordon Collins and Jay Palmer. Lauletta completed 24 of 27 passes (89 percent) for 290 yards. Aaron Corp set the school's single-game completion percentage record going 31 for 34 (91.2) at Towson on Oct. 8, 2011. Palmer also ran for a score and finished with 102 yards on 12 carries, and Richmond piled up 332 yards yards rushing. Richmond (2-1) outgained Howard 622-288 in total offense. Caylin Netwon led Howard (1-2) with 183 yards passing on just five completions with one touchdown. - AP College Football
01/09/17 - 2016 ALL-COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): QB Kyle Lauletta, Richmond, Jr.,...Lauletta was outstanding in his second year under center for the Spiders. He led the league and ranked in the top-10 in the country with 3,022 yards, his second consecutive 3,000-yard season. He passed for a league-high and career-high 24 TDs, which was just two away from the program’s single-season record. - Richmond Football
