 Draft Scout Player News
10/12/17 - QB Max Browne of Pittsburgh underwent season-ending surgery on his throwing shoulder, Panthers coach Pat Narduzzi announced Thursday. Browne injured his right shoulder during last Saturday's 27-24 loss to Syracuse. The injury ends the college career of the graduate transfer, who played at USC before joining the Panthers prior to this season. Browne passed for 997 yards and five touchdowns against two interceptions this season. He completed 71.1 percent of his passes.
10/07/17 - QB Max Browne exited the game with an injury midway through the third quarter. Browne, who entered the game ranked 10th in the nation in completion percentage (71.7), completed 15 of 22 passes for 161 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. He left the game with the Panthers trailing 17-13.
10/02/17 - OCT 2 ACC OFFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK: Max Browne, Pitt, Sr., QB, 6-5, 230, Sammamish, Wash.,...Browne had the finest game of his collegiate career – and one of the most prolific passing outings in Pitt history – in the Panthers' 42-10 victory over Rice. Browne connected on 88 percent of his passes (28 of 32) for 410 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. His incompletion total included three dropped passes. Browne was 14-of-16 for 247 yards in the first half alone. Browne's final passing yardage total was the highest by a Pitt player since Tom Savage threw for 424 yards at Duke on Sept. 21, 2013. Additionally, Browne's 28 completions were the most at Pitt since Savage also completed 28 passes at Syracuse on Nov. 23, 2013. Browne is one of only nine players in Pitt football history to throw for more than 400 yards in a single game, and Saturday's 410 passing yards rank eighth all-time in school history. - ACC Football
09/30/17 - Senior quarterback Max Browne threw for career highs of 410 yards and four touchdowns as host Pittsburgh reached the end zone on its first three possessions en route to a 42-10 victory over Rice on Saturday at Heinz Field. He finished 28 of 32. Running back Chawntez Moss recorded two touchdowns -- one rushing and one receiving -- for Pitt. Rice sophomore quarterback Jackson Tyner was 15 of 32 for 222 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. The Owls (1-4) entered the game 118th nationally in total offense among the 129 FBS teams at 292 yards per game.
