 Draft Scout Player News
11/04/17 - Peter Pujals completed a key pass to Blaise Bell on fourth-and 9 late in the first half and Holy Cross scored on the next play to begin a stretch of five unanswered touchdowns and roll to a 42-20 come-from-behind win at Fordham Saturday. One play after the fourth-down conversion, Gabe Guild scored on a 15-yard run forging a 14-14 tie minutes before halftime. The Crusaders (4-6, 3-2 Patriot League) then dominated in the second half, scoring four unanswered touchdowns, rolling up 354 yards rushing most since 2013 and grinding out drives of 76, 98, 80 and 82 yards. Holy Cross remains in the thick of the Patriot League title chase. Pujals completed 15 of 25 passes for 175 yards and TDs to Bell and Jayke Simsheuser. Chase Edmonds carried 20 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns for Fordham (3-7, 2-3). Edmonds became the Patriot League's career rushing leader with 5,677 yards and the Patriot's all-purpose yards leader with 7,184. - AP College Football
10/28/17 - Peter Pujals threw for 257 yards and rushed for a touchdown, Jackson McLarty made three short field goals, and Holy Cross beat Georgetown 24-10 on Saturday. Pujals' 18th career rushing touchdown came after a fake handoff from the 1 with 6:24 left in the game and Diquan Walker added the 2-point conversion. Georgetown turned it over on downs on its final two possessions of the game. Gabe Guild had the only other touchdown for Holy Cross (3-6, 2-2 Patriot League), a 1-yard run for a 7-3 lead early in the second quarter. McLarty's long was from 31 yards. Georgetown (1-7, 0-3) has lost seven straight since defeating Campbell 16-10 in its season opener. Gunther Johnson was 17-of-38 passing for 181 yards and a touchdown for the Hoyas. Tommy Jesson's 14-yard touchdown reception pulled Georgetown within 13-10 with 12 seconds left in the third. - AP College Football
09/16/17 - Peter Pujals threw five touchdown passes, two to Martin Dorsey, and Holy Cross pummeled New Hampshire, 51-26 in a nonconference battle and the Crusaders' home opener Saturday. A year ago Pujals set a school record by connecting on 42 of 64 pass attempts for three touchdowns against New Hampshire. This time he connected on just 21 of 39 attempts for 367 yards. Trevor Knight got New Hampshire (2-1, 1-0 Colonial) on the board first with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Neil O'Connor, but Holy Cross answered with the first of A.J. Wells' three first-half field goals, this one from 46-yards out. Pujals hit Dorsey from 14-yards out to give the Crusaders (2-1, 1-0 Patriot) the lead for good and Wells hit from 29- and 37-yards to make it 16-7 at the half. Pujals capped his day with an 86-yard stroke to Dorsey to make it 51-19 with 6:43 left. - AP College Football
09/07/16 - Peter Pujals passed for three touchdowns and 240 yards and Holy Cross pulled away from Morgan State to win 51-24 on Saturday in the season opener for both teams. Morgan State stuck around for a while - the Bears led 17-14 midway through the second quarter on Orlando Johnson's 1-yard touchdown dive, his second TD of the game. But Holy Cross benefited from a poor snap that ended as a safety and after the two-pointer, the Crusaders travelled 67 yards in nine plays, culminating with Diquan Walker's 3-yard plunge. On the ensuing drive, Morgan State was stopped on fourth-and-14 on a sack at the Bears 42 with 1:21 left in the half. Pujals then led a quick scoring drive, hitting Teddy Capsis from the 3 with 18 seconds to go. Two Holy Cross third-quarter touchdowns - a 12-yard run by Gabe Guild and Pujals' 12-yard toss to Lucas Nikolaisen - put it out of reach. Guild and Walker both rushed for two touchdowns. - AP Sports
11/17/15 - Peter Pujals threw a pair of touchdown passes to Kalif Raymond to stake Holy Cross to a 20-0 first-half lead that turned into a 23-7 Patriot League win over Bucknell Saturday afternoon. Pujals was 30 for 47 for 304 yards through the air and carried 10 times for 50 yards on the ground. Brendan Flaherty caught 11 passes for 100 yards and Raymond had eight catches for 89. Bucknell (4-6, 1-4) got its lone score in the third quarter when R.J. Nitti found Andrew Owers with a 3-yard touchdown pass. Overall the Bison were forced to punt five times, turned the ball over on a fumble, an interception and on downs. Nitti was 23 of 39 passing for 277 yards and a touchdown, but was picked off by Coan Calabrese. Connor Fitzgerald was 1-for-4 kicking field goals for Holy Cross (5-5, 2-3), connecting from 26-yards out in the fourth quarter. - AP Sports
