12/02/17 - Taylor Lamb passed for four touchdowns and ran for another to help Appalachian State wrap up a share of the Sun Belt Conference title with a 63-14 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. Lamb finished with 242 yards passing and 87 yards rushing. Thomas Hennigan caught all four TD passes for the Mountaineers (8-4, 7-1) and had five catches for 99 yards altogether. Appalachian State will finish the season tied atop the conference standings with Saturday's Arkansas State-Troy winner. Louisiana-Lafayette (5-7, 4-4) opened the scoring with a three-play, 75-yard drive less than a minute into the contest. Lamb's 29-yard keeper in the middle of the first quarter tied it at 7 and sparked a run of 56 straight points for Appalachian State. Daetrich Harrington ran for 118 yards and a touchdown, and Jalin Moore ran for 110 yards and two scores for the Mountaineers. 11/10/17 - Taylor Lamb threw two touchdown passes and Marcus Williams Jr. had 28 carries for 130 yards to help Appalachian State beat Georgia Southern 27-6 on Thursday night. Lamb was 7-of-13 passing for 161 yards and added 62 yards rushing on five carries for Appalachian State (6-4, 5-1 Sun Belt Conference). Collin Reed's 23-yard touchdown reception gave the Mountaineers their first lead midway through the second quarter and freshman Chandler Staton hit a career-long 53-yard field goal as time in the first half expired to make it 10-3.
On Appalachian State's first play from scrimmage in the second half, Lamb hit Thomas Hennigan for a 51-yard gain to set up a 28-yard field goal by Staton. Georgia Southern (0-9, 0-5) answered with an 11-play, 36-yard drive capped by Tyler Bass' 44-yard field goal to make it 13-6 late in the third quarter. On Appalachian State's next possession, defensive end Caleb Fuller, on fourth-and-1 from midfield, ran 23 yards on a fake punt and, three plays later, Lamb hit Ike Lewis for a 20-yard touchdown. 10/23/17 - OCT 23 SUN BELT CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Taylor Lamb, Appalachian State (Sr., QB)...Taylor Lamb threw for a career-high 427 passing yards with two TDs and no interceptions in the Mountaineers' 37-29 win over Coastal Carolina. His 427 yards rank second-most in a game in school history (Armanti Edwards - 433 vs. South Carolina State in 2008) and third-most by a Sun Belt QB this year. On his first TD pass of the game, Lamb became App State's all-time leader with 75 before adding one more. Lamb is now tied for third place in SBC history with 76 TD passes, the same total FAU's Rusty Smith had from 2005-09. 10/14/17 - Taylor Lamb threw three touchdowns and Michael Rubino knocked home a 31-yard field goal and Appalachian State rallied to a 23-20 Sun Belt Conference victory against Idaho on Saturday. The Mountaineers (4-2, 3-0 Sun Belt) were trailing 20-0 before Lamb began the rally with a 38-yard pass to Ike Lewis at 7:59 of the third quarter. In the final period, Lamb found Collin Reed from the 6-yard line to cap a grinding, 14-play drive, and then hooked up with Lewis again for a 45-yard score. The Mountaineer defense held Idaho (2-4, 1-2) scoreless and to a net 17 yards and two fumbles on its last six drives. Lewis caught six passes for a career-high 101 yards, Lamb completed 19 of 26 passes for 155 yards. He's tied Armani Edwards for a school-record 74 TD passes. Matt Linehan went 15-for-28 for 200 yards for Idaho with two TDs. Cade Coffey added a pair of field goals for Idaho's 20-0 lead early in the third. - AP College Football
