Arnett had a roundabout journey to Morgantown, but he came through the past two seasons for head coach Bill Stewart and quarterbacks Pat White and Jarrett Brown. He attended Butler Community College after a stellar high school football and track career, catching 14 passes for 212 yards and three scores and also sprinting there. The next season he transferred to Scottsdale Community College (8-100-2 in nine games).

He redshirted his first season with the Mountaineers with a thumb injury, but earned the starting job in every game the following season in 2008. Arnett caught 35 balls for 466 yards and six scores as a junior, stepping up with 7-93-2, including the game-winning touchdown in the Meineke Car Care Bowl.

This year Arnett continued that success, bringing in 43 receptions for 586 yards and three touchdowns. His height, silky routes and solid hands at the East-West Shrine Game also gained him fans among scouts, making him a possible late-round pick.

Release: Gets off the line quickly if not pressed, and is able to shake off defender to get free. Eats up cushion fast against off coverage and can accelerate by corners who wait too long to turn and run. Must prove he can get off the jam, as his slight build will invite NFL corners to be physical with him.

Hands: Very good hands; brings in passes with arms extended away from his frame. Excellent concentration in traffic and with defenders on his side. Makes one-handed receptions look easy. Gets down to grab low throws despite his height. Tough enough to take the big hit and hold on over the middle or in the end zone. Will drop balls if trying to make a play before securing the catch.

Route running: Quick feet and track speed allow him to be effective on any route in the tree. Threat of deep ball makes his quick cuts and ball fakes on slants very difficult to handle. Bursts to the ball when it is thrown seemingly beyond his reach.

After the catch: Very good vision and agility in the open field. Almost slippery because of his thin frame and speed through creases in the secondary. Accelerates and eludes defenders after immediately securing the ball on hitch routes, and sinks his hips to cut inside or outside. His ability to hold onto the ball will be tested by stronger defensive backs because of his lanky build.

Blocking: Blocks often in WVU's offense for quick screens and lateral runs, though he fails to hit his intended target too often. Lacks the strength to dominate on the edge and must get his hands on his man's numbers to be effective. Gives effort, though, at least getting in the way sufficiently to give the ballcarrier a crease.

Intangibles: Has come a long way in his maturity and stamina since arriving from junior college. Considered one of the team leaders.
