01/15/18 - (DT) - Christian Wilkins, Jr, 6-3, 300
DT Christian Wilkins, a two-time All-American, is returning for his senior season. Wilkins, a Lombardi Award finalist, was considered to be a first-round pick if he entered the NFL draft after making 55 tackles, including 4.5 sacks this past season.

01/15/18 - (DT) - Christian Wilkins, Jr, 6-3, 300
Two-time All-American Christian Wilkins will return for his senior year in 2018. Wilkins informed the Clemson football staff of his decision Monday afternoon. With Wilkins's return, Clemson will have three returning first-team All-Americans and four returning All-ACC players among its front four defenders for 2018. On Saturday, first-team All-American defensive ends Clelin Ferrell and Austin Bryant both announced they would return for 2018. The fourth returning starter, Dexter Lawrence, will be a junior next year and was a first-team All-ACC performer in 2017 after being named a unanimous freshman All-American in 2016.

Last year Clemson ranked second in the nation in scoring defense (13.6), fourth in total defense (276.7), fourth in pass defense (161.9) and tied for first in sacks (46). Additionally, Clemson was second in fewest yards per play allowed (4.27), and second in passing yards per attempt (5.7). Wilkins, who earned his Clemson undergraduate degree in just two and a half years, earned All-America honors in 2016 and 2017 and has been a two-time Academic All-ACC selection as well. He is expected to be announced on the academic team for a third time later this month. - Clemson Football

01/13/18 - (DE) - Clelin Ferrell, rSo, 6-4, 260
DE Clelin Ferrell will return to school next season. It was assumed he would enter the NFL Draft this year as he was considered a first-round prospect. However, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney confirmed Saturday evening that he will return to Clemson. NFLDraftScout.com ranked Ferrell as the No. 25 overall prospect. Ferrell, a redshirt sophomore, started all 14 games last season and all 15 in 2016, when the Tigers went on to win the national championship. He led the Tigers this season in tackles for loss (17) and sacks (8.5).

01/13/18 - (DE) - Austin Bryant, Jr, 6-4, 265
DE Austin Bryant will return to school next season. It was assumed that Bryant would enter the NFL Draft this year as he was considered a first-round prospect. However, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney confirmed Saturday evening that he will returning to Clemson. NFLDraftScout.com ranked Bryant as the nation's No. 21 overall pro prospect. Bryant, a junior, was second on the team in tackles for loss (14.5) and sacks (7.5).

01/10/18 - (WR) - *Deon Cain, Jr, 6-1, 190
Clemson receiver Deon Cain is joining the growing list of Tigers' underclassmen declaring for the NFL draft. The school announced Cain's decision Wednesday. He joins receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, safety Van Smith and offensive lineman Taylor Hearn as Tigers giving up their remaining eligibility to turn pro. Cain is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior from Tampa, Florida. He was Clemson's second leading receiver with 58 catches for 734 yards and six touchdowns. The speedy Cain is projected as a mid-round selection in the draft. There are several other Clemson players with eligibility left who have decisions to make before the January 15th deadline to declare for the NFL draft, most notably defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell and Christian Wilkins, linebacker Kendall Joseph and offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt. - AP College Football

01/08/18 - (WR) - *Ray-Ray McCloud, Jr, 5-09, 180
Clemson wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud added his name Sunday to the list of underclassmen declaring for the NFL Draft. The school and McCloud confirmed that the junior was moving on and won't return for the 2018 season. "I am truly thankful for all the memories we share & I will always bleed orange & purple," Clemson football posted on its Twitter account. "I salute you all & GO TIGERS!" "Proud & honored to announce that Ray-Ray McCloud III will be entering the 2018 @NFL Draft. Forever a #Clemson Tiger. Forever #ALLIN.#ClemsonFamily @RMIII_34" McCloud accumulated 124 catches for 1,225 yards in three seasons with the Tigers. In the Sugar Bowl loss to Alabama last week in a College Football Playoff semifinal, he had three receptions. "My decision to come to Clemson was one of the best decisions of my life," McCloud said. "The amount of success we've had as a team has been unbelievable and something that I will always cherish and never forget. "After praying day and night and discussing my future with my family and Coach (Dabo) Swinney, I've decided to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft."

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound McCloud finished the 2017 season with 49 catches for a career-high 503 yards and one touchdown. "I'd like to thank my teammates for all the support and hard work they've put in to help this program be a championship contender year in and year out, my coaches for pushing me each and every day to be a better man first and foremost, and to develop into the player I am today," McCloud said McCloud is not expected to be selected in the early rounds of this year's draft, but he also is a capable return man, having compiled 847 all-purpose yards in 2017. He returned 25 punts for a 12.1-yard average, which ranked among the national leaders. He had one punt return for a touchdown, a 77-yarder against North Carolina State. - The Sports Xchange

01/07/18 - (WR) - *Ray-Ray McCloud, Jr, 5-09, 180
Clemson receiver Ray-Ray McCloud will skip his senior season to enter the NFL draft, becoming the first of several Tiger underclassmen who could go pro. McCloud announced his decision Sunday on the football team's Twitter account . The 5-foot-10, 180-pound junior from Tampa, Florida, has been a returner and defensive back in his three seasons at Clemson. McCloud made headlines in 2016 when he dropped the ball just short of the goal line on what was a sure punt-return TD against Troy. He was Clemson's third leading receiver, with 49 catches for 503 yards and a touchdown. Clemson has several other underclassmen considering going pro, most notably defensive linemen Clelin Ferrell and Christian Wilkins, offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt and receiver Deon Cain. - AP College Football

12/03/17 - (QB) - Kelly Bryant, Jr, 6-3, 220
Top-ranked Clemson rolled past No. 7 Miami 38-3 on Saturday night in the ACC Championship Game, claiming what is expected to be a trip to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. It was the third consecutive ACC title for Clemson (12-1) and secured what is certain to be a third straight berth in the College Football Playoff. The defending national champions enhanced their status with a dominating performance on both sides of the ball in front of a sold-out Bank of America Stadium crowd of 74,372 -- the second largest attendance in ACC Championship Game history. Clemson junior quarterback Kelly Bryant completed 23 of 29 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a second score and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. Bryant completed his first 15 passes of the game, breaking the ACC Championship Game record held by former teammate Deshaun Watson. He completed passes to 11 receivers and the Tigers got rushing touchdowns from four different players. Clemson was held to a season-low 77 yards rushing, but that seemed insignificant, particularly with a defense that didn't allow the Hurricanes (10-2) to score until a field goal with 3:29 left in the game. Clemson dominated the first half and jumped out to a 21-0 lead. - The Sports Xchange

12/02/17 - (QB) - Kelly Bryant, Jr, 6-3, 220
Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant has taken a lot of criticism this season simply because, well, he's not Deshaun Watson. But the junior quarterback is off to a terrific start against No. 7 Miami's turnover-minded defense. Bryant showed no signs of nerves in the biggest game of his career, completing his first 15 passes for 164 yards and running for an 11-yard touchdown to help the top-ranked Tigers take a 21-0 lead over Miami at halftime. The 15 straight completions to start the game are an ACC championship game record. Bryant was placed in the unenviable position of replacing national championship winner and three-year starter Deshaun Watson as Tigers' signal caller. But he broke the Clemson mark for wins (10) for a first-year starter while helping the Tigers earn the No. 1 ranking in the country. "There (were) a lot of questions for me, but I don't feel like I tried to put any pressure on myself," Bryant said last week. "I just tried to go out there and just tried to create my own game." - AP College Football
