01/20/18 - (RB) - Myles Gaskin, Jr, 5-09, 191
NFL Early Entries: College Winners and Losers: Winner -- WASHINGTON: The Huskies' backfield combination of quarterback Jake Browning and running back Myles Gaskin will be fourth-year starters in 2018. They will work behind left tackle Trey Adams, an All-American candidate who will be back for his senior year after missing the last half of the season with a knee injury. Washington likely enters 2018 as the Pac-12 favorite. - Anthony Gimino, The Sports Xchange

01/14/18 - (RB) - Myles Gaskin, Jr, 5-09, 191
Washington star running back Myles Gaskin will return to school for his senior season rather than enter the NFL draft. Gaskin announced his decision in a brief statement on Twitter on Sunday night, the day before the NFL deadline for eligible underclassmen to declare for the draft. Gaskin was expected to be a mid-to-late round selection in what's expected to be a strong running back class. Gaskin has rushed for more than 4,000 yards in his career. Gaskin finished the 2017 season with 1,380 yards and had 24 total TDs. It's a big load Gaskin has taken in his time with the Huskies, rushing for at least 1,300 yards in three straight seasons. Gaskin's decision is a big boost for a Washington offense that'll return its top running back, quarterback Jake Browning and the majority of its offensive starters from a team that went 10-3 last season, losing to Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl. - AP College Football

01/01/18 - (DT) - *Vita Vea, rJr, 6-4, 340
Washington standout defensive lineman Vita Vea, the Pac-12 Conference defensive player of the year, has declared for the NFL draft. Vea announced the expected decision in a lengthy post on social media on Monday. Vea hinted following Washington loss to Penn State in the Fiesta Bowl he would be leaving early for the NFL, where he's expected to be a first-round pick. Vea nearly left Washington after his sophomore year but opted to stay for his junior season. He was a disruptive force on the defensive line and was voted the conference defensive player of the year by the league's coaches. He was the first Washington player named defensive player of the year in the conference since 1996 and just the fourth defensive player in school history to be player of the year. Vea finished the regular season with 38 tackles and 3 sacks. He had six tackles in the Fiesta Bowl. - AP College Football

11/26/17 - (RB) - Myles Gaskin, Jr, 5-09, 191
Myles Gaskin ran for 192 yards and four touchdowns and the No. 17 Washington Huskies dominated Washington State 41-14 in the 2017 edition of the Apple Cup Saturday night. Washington State's opportunity at winning the Pac-12 North and playing USC in the Pac-12 championship game drowned in the heavy Montlake rain as the Cougars endured their fifth consecutive defeat in the rivalry series. Stanford, which upset Notre Dame, is the major beneficiary of the result, clinching the Pac-12 North title. The Cardinal will play USC in the Pac-12 championship game. Gaskin created a highlight reel of making tacklers miss, making his outstanding performance look easy. His 2-yard touchdown scamper finished a five-minute, 75-yard touchdown drive to open the game. Gaskin's second touchdown, also a 2-yard score, capped an impressive 93-yard march down the field in which he contributed 70 yards, including a 43-yard dash, to put Washington (10-2, 7-2) in control at 21-0 in the second quarter. His next score came when he leapt for the front pylon from the 3-yard line and easily slid the football over the line. The score all but put it to bed, giving Washington a 34-0 lead at the 6:06 mark in the third quarter. Gaskin's fourth touchdown answered the only score of the night by Washington State's (9-3, 6-3), making it 41-7. - The Sports Xchange

Browning completed five straight passes before Myles Gaskin ran in the-game tying TD with just 0:58 to go. After holding the Utah defense, Browning and the offense came back onto the field on the UW 28 with just 0:29 to go. 11/15/17 - (ILB) - Azeem Victor, rSr, 6-2, 231
Washington has suspended senior linebacker Azeem Victor indefinitely following his weekend arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Victor was taken into custody early Sunday morning and released later that day, according to King County jail records. Additional details about the arrest were not immediately available. "We take these matters very seriously, and have suspended Azeem from our team indefinitely as we continue to gather details about this incident," coach Chris Petersen said in a written statement. Washington would not comment further on the matter. Victor had a sack in the 16th-ranked Huskies' 30-22 loss at Stanford last week. - AP College Football
