 Draft Scout Carson Wentz News
11/20/17 - QB Carson Wentz threw a pair of touchdown passes as Philadelphia scored on its first three possessions of the second half and surged to a 37-9 victory on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium. With their kicking game limited due to an injury to Jake Elliott, the Eagles went for two after each of their second-half touchdowns. Wentz made good on two of them with passes to Alshon Jeffery and tight end Trey Burton, and running back Corey Clement ran for another one. "When I found out that Jake was being evaluated, at that point I went into go-for-it (mode) on fourth down in the field-goal-range situations," Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said. "The scoring drives were just sort of a no-brainer to go for it on two-point conversions." It worked. Wentz converted a fourth-and-5 from the Dallas 17 when he connected with Jeffery for a touchdown that put Philadelphia ahead 29-9 with 12:10 left in the fourth quarter. Wentz's stellar second half helped him finish with 168 passing yards on 14-of-27 passing.
11/08/17 - QB Carson Wentz has thrown 17 touchdown passes in the Eagles' last five games. That's the most ever by an Eagles quarterback over a five-game stretch. "He improves every single week," head coach Doug Pederson said
11/06/17 - QB Carson Wentz threw four touchdown passes and was 15 of 27 for 199 yards (118.7 passer rating) in Sunday's game. "He prepares so well each week," Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said of his second-year quarterback. "It's fun to watch." Wentz threw touchdown strikes to Alshon Jeffery, Corey Clement and tight end Trey Burton, pushing his total to a league-best 23 this season.
11/02/17 - QB Carson Wentz was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. Wentz completed 89 of 148 passes for 1,247 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions for the Eagles (7-1).
10/30/17 - QB Carson Wentz had his second lowest passer rating of the season Sunday. Wentz had an 84.2 rating against the 49ers, including 6.6 yards per attempt and a 56.2 completion percentage. He was 2-for-7 and was sacked twice when the 49ers blitzed.
