Draft Scout Steve Breaston News
02/21/13 - WR Steve Breaston was waived by the Chiefs. He was largely a game-day inactive last season after falling deep down the depth chart.
12/30/12 - WR Steve Breaston was active for the Denver game Sunday, the first time he's been dressed for action in over a month. Despite not complaining publicly and continuing to work hard, Breaston was shoved aside by the Chiefs about midseason and saw his playing time evaporate to nothing. He didn't touch the ball against the Broncos, and he ended the season with seven catches for 74 yards.
12/10/12 - WR Steve Breaston may get the chance to get back on the field and into the Chiefs offense with WR Dwayne Bowe out of action against Oakland and possibly the rest of the season. Breaston has been a game-day inactive in four of the last five games for the Chiefs. In each of those games, he was a healthy scratch.
11/14/12 - WR Steve Breaston's status has fallen far, a fact that was visible in the Pittsburgh game, when for the first time in his six-year career he was a healthy game-day inactive player. Breaston's playing time has been falling on a weekly basis and because he has no special teams duties, he lost his active status against the Steelers. With three talented young receivers on the practice squad, Breaston may not have his spot on the roster very much longer.
10/19/12 - WR Steve Breaston and his place in the Chiefs' offense has fallen dramatically in the first six weeks of the season. In the last two games, Breaston has been on the field for just 10 snaps. He was on the field for 139 offensive snaps in the first three games. Head coach Romeo Crennel indicated last week that Breaston was now a backup and would have to approach his weekly work in that manner.
