12/26/17 - 2017 ALL-MAC FIRST TEAM (COACHES/MEDIA): Down Lineman Anthony Winbush, Ball State,...Winbush tied the Ball State career record for sacks (25) against Buffalo on Nov. 16. His 11.5 sacks this season ranks fourth nationally. The native of Indianapolis, Indiana, tallied at least one sack in seven games in 2017, including a personal-high 3.0 sacks in the season opener at Illinois. Winbush also leads the nation in forced fumbles (5) and ranks 13th nationally in tackles for loss (16.5). - Ball State Football
10/23/17 - The three players at the top of the national sack chart all come from the Mid-American Conference. Anthony Winbush of Ball State averages 1.36 per game, Joe Ostman of Central Michigan averages 1.25 and Sutton Smith of Northern Illinois averages 1.21. 09/04/17 - Sept 4 MAC West Division Defensive Player of the Week: Ball State DE Anthony Winbush...Ball State senior defensive end Anthony Winbush (Indianapolis, Ind.) had a career-high three sacks and seven tackles in a 24-21 loss at Illinois. Two of his sacks came on back-to-back plays in the third quarter that forced Illinois out of field goal range. He was part of defense that held Illinois to 216 yards of total offense, almost 100 yards below its 2016 average. - MAC Football

He put an exclamation point on his season with a career-high 2.5 sacks in the season finale at Miami. The native of Indianapolis, Indiana, recorded multiple sacks in three other games at Indiana, versus Eastern Kentucky and at Central Michigan.
