08/22/17 - Rookie T Ryan Ramczyk saw his first NFL action when he started against the Chargers and his block helped spring RB Alvin Kamara on a 50-yard touchdown run. The Saints are hoping Ramczyk, chosen with the final pick in the first round of the draft, proves capable of handling the left-tackle spot that belonged to Terron Armstead before Armstead underwent shoulder surgery that will sideline him for at least half the season.
Ramczyk missed the first preseason game because of injury, then played 25 snaps and mostly held his own against Los Angeles even though he faced both Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa. "I think it just really hammers in the fact that you need to be sound with technique every single play," Ramczyk told NOLA.com|The Times-Picayune of his first NFL experience. "There was a couple times I may have gotten away from that, and it showed."
08/11/17 - Rookie No. 1 draft choice Ryan Ramczyk, who appears to be the favorite to start at left tackle, sat out the game because of an undisclosed injury, but returned to practice Friday.
