Draft Scout Tony Bergstrom News
09/01/17 - OL Tony Bergstrom was acquired by the Baltimore Ravens from the Arizona Cardinals on Friday in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2018 draft. Bergstrom, who plays both guard and center, is beginning his sixth NFL season. The 31-year-old Bergstrom has played in 40 NFL games (four starts) since being a third-round selection of the Oakland Raiders in 2012. The 6-5, 315-pound Bergstrom played with the Raiders for four seasons before being a member of the Houston Texans last season. He played in 15 games for the Texans.
05/03/17 - OL Tony Bergstrom signed a one-year contract Wednesday, adding depth to the Arizona Cardinals' offensive line. Bergstrom, 30, has experience at both center and guard in his five years in the NFL. He played in 15 games with the Houston Texans last season before being released on April 13.
03/11/16 - C/G Tony Bergstrom, who became an unrestricted free agent with the Raiders March 9, was signed by the Texans Wednesday (March 9).
11/12/15 - C Tony Bergstrom, the first draft pick ever made by general manager Reggie McKenzie, saw his first regular-season action since Dec. 30, 2012 against Pittsburgh.
Bergstrom, who has played both tackle and guard, was on the Raiders' 53-man roster but inactive for all 16 games last season. In 2013, Bergstrom was on injured reserve with a foot injury.
As a rookie in 2012, Bergstrom played in nine games with a single start. All his play this season had been on special teams until he played 16 snaps following an ankle injury to Rodney Hudson.
"Every week I've basically gone into every game as though I'm starting and I try to be as prepared as possible, be as prepared as anyone else who's going out there and it's just become habit," Bergstrom said.
Upon entering the game, Bergstrom said the Steelers predictably turned up the pressure over center.
"I graded out pretty well," Bergstrom said. "There are always things to clean up. The Steelers are obviously a really good team and the second I went in there, they threw everything but the kitchen sink. Actually, everything and the kitchen sink. They got in into the back pages of that playbook, but that's what any team would do with a new center going in there."
09/01/13 - G Tony Bergstrom (foot) was placed on reserve/injured by the Raiders Saturday.
