 Draft Scout Kelton Tindal News
05/24/10 - WR Kelton Tindal (Newberry) was waived by Miami.
04/27/10 - 2010 VIKINGS UNDRAFTED ROOKIE FREE AGENT: Kelton Tindal, WR, Newberry – Perhaps the fastest undrafted player to agree to terms with the Vikings recorded 113 receptions for 1,898 yards and 16 TDS in 4 years at Newberry. The 6-1, 197-pounder has recorded a 4.32 40-yard dash. - Minnesota Vikings
02/08/10 - Texas vs. Nation Game Review: Former LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux (Jacksonville State) made the best throw of the day, loading up and throwing for 67 yards to Newberry's Kelton Tindal, who can run like no one else - he's expected to run his 40-yard dash in the 4.2's at his pro day. Although Tindal didn't score, he made a nice adjustment to the ball in the air after using his elite separation speed, overcoming an up-and-down week of practices in terms of catching the ball. If he runs the blazing time most expect, look for Raiders' owner Al Davis to grab Tindal late in the draft. - Chad Reuter, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
02/03/10 - Texas vs. the Nation, Tuesday: Mississippi tight end Gerald Harris and Newberry wide receiver Kelton Tindal had poor practices. Tindal's speed is legendary in scouting circles - he is expected to run the 40 in less than 4.3 seconds in upcoming workouts. His burst is remarkable and allows for easy separation from cornerbacks. However, he is extremely raw running routes - consistently losing his balance - and has been erratic catching the ball. Despite those issues, a team might be willing to take a chance on him and spend a late-round pick with the hope of improvement. - Chad Reuter, The Sports Xchange, NFLDraftScout.com
08/30/09 - The Todd Knight era of Newberry College football got off to the best start possible as the unranked scarlet and gray came back from a halftime deficit to take down nationally ranked Valdosta State University, 31-24, in front of 9,217 fans at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium on Saturday. Newberry (1-0) intercepted five passes – four of which were inside the Newberry 25-yardline – to stave off the VSU (0-1; No. 13 AFCA; No. 8 D2Football.com) attack. The scarlet and gray also put up 470 yards of offense and controlled the clock throughout the game. Senior quarterback Brandon Gantt (Lexington, S.C.) completed 25-of-39 passes for 333 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. The 333 yards and 25 completions are both the ninth-most in a single game in Newberry history. It was the 14th time a Newberry quarterback has passed for over 300 yards in a game. David Pressley (Anderson, S.C.) led the receiving corps with 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown, while David Smith (Union, S.C.) was not far behind with six receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown. Kelton Tindal (Sumter, S.C.) had five catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. - Newberry football
