Draft Scout Ron Parker News
03/14/15 - S Ron Parker was re-signed by the Chiefs Saturday (March 13), agreeing to terms on a five-year, $25 million contract with a $5 million signing bonus and $8 million guaranteed.
Parker entered the NFL in 2011 as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry College and bounced around the league with the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers before landing in Kansas City.
Parker, 27, spent the previous two years with the Chiefs and started 15 of the 16 games last season. He totaled 94 tackles, 12 pass deflections, one interception and one forced fumble.
03/04/15 - DB Ron Parker was the jack of all trades in the secondary last year, starting at left cornerback and at safety when Eric Berry went down with his illness. Parker started 15 games and was the defense's second-leading tackler with 94 stops, a sack and an interception. He showed he was better suited for safety than the corner. No question the Chiefs would like to retain him, but they aren't going to crack open their wallet to make that happen.
11/09/14 - DB Ron Parker defended three passes in the end zone when the Bills were trying to score a go-ahead touchdown in the final three minutes. Parker also forced a fumble near the Chiefs' goal line that turned into a touchback. "I've got to point at Parker and the job that he did," coach Andy Reid said. "We've asked that kid to play everywhere and he's such a competitor."
09/02/13 - CB Ron Parker was assigned on waivers from the Seahawks to the Chiefs Sunday.
09/01/13 - CB Ron Parker was waived by the Seahawks Saturday.
