Draft Scout Nick Mangold News
06/16/16 - C Nick Mangold sat out the Jets' three-day minicamp. Head coach Todd Bowles said Mangold had sore legs. Mangold, who is entering his 11th NFL season and is the longest-tenured player on the roster, also sat out most of OTAs. He missed one game last season - just the fourth game Mangold has sat out as a pro - but played through neck and hand injuries.
11/27/15 - C Nick Mangold (hand) was a full practice participant on Friday and listed as probable for Sunday's game.
11/25/15 - C Nick Mangold (hand) did not practice Wednesday, three days after he needed six or seven stitches to close a gap between the ring finger and the index finger on his right (snapping) hand in the Jets' 24-17 loss to the Texans. Coach Todd Bowles said Mangold's hand is still sore and swollen and that he would like to see him practice in some capacity Thursday. Mangold missed just three games in his first nine NFL seasons but missed one game earlier this season, as well as half of another, due to a neck injury.
11/22/15 - C Nick Mangold was lost to lacerations on his hand in the first quarter and did not return. Mangold was present on the sideline throughout the game following his injury, which his right hand bandaged. Wesley Johnson replaced Mangold.
11/08/15 - C Nick Mangold (neck) left in the third quarter Sunday of the Jets' 28-23 win over the Jaguars. Mangold aggravated the injury he suffered Oct. 25, when he was hurt in the final minute of a 30-23 loss to the New England Patriots. He missed the Nov. 1 game against the Raiders, which was only the third game Mangold has not played since reaching the NFL in 2006. Head coach Todd Bowles said afterward Mangold would undergo more testing before the team could determine if he would be able to play Thursday against the Buffalo Bills.
