Draft Scout Nick Mangold News
09/13/15 - C Nick Mangold dodged an injury scare Sunday when he missed a snap in the third quarter of the Jets' 31-10 win over the Browns. Mangold was laying on the field for a few minutes after a second-and-goal play from the Browns' 1-yard line. But Mangold got up without assistance and walked on his own to the sideline. The Jets have no backup for Mangold, so second-year offensive lineman Dakota Dozier made his NFL debut by entering and snapping on the next play, when QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to WR Brandon Marshall. Mangold returned to the field for the Jets' next series and played the remainder of the game. He has played in 142 of 145 possible games since the Jets selected him in the first round of the 2006 draft.
12/29/14 - C Nick Mangold (left ankle) was inactive for the Jets' 37-24 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Mangold suffered a severe high ankle sprain during the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots on Dec. 21. He was listed as questionable despite getting in only one limited practice last week. Mangold has missed just three games in nine NFL seasons.
12/24/14 - C Nick Mangold (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Mangold avoided a break Sunday, when he was carted off in the second quarter of the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots, but further exams on Monday revealed he likely suffered a high ankle sprain when a Patriots player accidentally rolled into him at the end of a 14-yard run by RB Bilal Powell. The 30 year old has missed just two games since being selected by the Jets in the first round of the 2006 draft.

Mangold was hurt when a Patriots player accidentally rolled into him at the end of a 14-yard run by RB Bilal Powell. Mangold was carted off the field and underwent X-rays that revealed no break. Further testing Monday showed the sprain. Mangold, who has missed just two games since he was drafted by the Jets in 2006, hopes to play Sunday in the season finale against the Miami Dolphins.
12/21/14 - C Nick Mangold (left ankle) was carted off the field in the second quarter of the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
