12/29/14 - C Nick Mangold (left ankle) was inactive for the Jets' 37-24 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Mangold suffered a severe high ankle sprain during the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots on Dec. 21. He was listed as questionable despite getting in only one limited practice last week. Mangold has missed just three games in nine NFL seasons.
12/24/14 - C Nick Mangold (ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Mangold avoided a break Sunday, when he was carted off in the second quarter of the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots, but further exams on Monday revealed he likely suffered a high ankle sprain when a Patriots player accidentally rolled into him at the end of a 14-yard run by RB Bilal Powell. The 30 year old has missed just two games since being selected by the Jets in the first round of the 2006 draft.
12/22/14 - C Nick Mangold (left ankle) appeared to dodge serious injury Sunday, when he suffered a severe sprain in the second quarter of the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots. Mangold was hurt when a Patriots player accidentally rolled into him at the end of a 14-yard run by RB Bilal Powell. Mangold was carted off the field and underwent X-rays that revealed no break. Further testing Monday showed the sprain. Mangold, who has missed just two games since he was drafted by the Jets in 2006, hopes to play Sunday in the season finale against the Miami Dolphins.
12/21/14 - C Nick Mangold (left ankle) was carted off the field in the second quarter of the Jets' 17-16 loss to the Patriots on Sunday. Mangold was injured when a Patriots player appeared to accidentally roll into him at the end of a 14-yard run out of the Wildcat by RB Bilal Powell. X-rays revealed no break, but Mangold, who was in a walking boot and on crutches after the game, said he will undergo more tests Monday. Mangold, who missed just five snaps all season before getting hurt, has played in all but two games as a pro since the Jets selected him in the first round of the 2006 draft.
12/15/14 - C Nick Mangold (finger) briefly left the field during the Jets' game-winning touchdown drive in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 16-11 victory over the Titans. Prior to Sunday, Mangold hadn't missed a snap all season. He returned in time for the end of the drive. X-rays on the finger following the game were negative.
