 Draft Scout Tre Boston News
05/12/14 - A closer look at the Panthers' picks: Round 4/128 -- Tre Boston, SS, 6-0, 204, North Carolina...Boston struggled at times with the Tar Heels, but the Panthers are confident their staff can help him improve. With former starting safety Charles Godfrey moving to cornerback, Boston could be in line for a healthy number of snaps as a rookie. - The Sports Xchange
12/13/13 - 2013 ALL-ACC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): S-Tre Boston, Sr., North Carolina (21)...Has been selected Second Team All-ACC for the 2013 college football season by the ACC Coaches. - North Carolina football
12/04/13 - 2013 ALL-ACC SECOND TEAM (MEDIA): S Tre Boston, North Carolina, 6-1, 205, Sr., Fort Myers, Fla. (86)...Has been selected Second Team All-ACC for the 2013 college football season by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA). - North Carolina football
10/17/13 - Scouting the North Carolina pass defense: North Carolina is giving up nearly 239 yards a game to opposing passers and will be up against a Miami defense that is throwing for just under 275 a game. The Heels need to get pressure on Miami QB Stephen Morris but have only eight sacks in five games. - The Sports Xchange
08/11/13 - TOP NORTH CAROLINA PROSPECTS FOR THE 2014 NFL DRAFT: 4. S Tre Boston (6-1, 190, 4.43)...One of the better senior safety prospects entering the 2013 season, Boston started his Tar Heels career at cornerback before transitioning to safety prior to his sophomore season. He started at strong safety each of the past two seasons and led the team in interceptions both years, giving him eight career picks entering his final season at North Carolina. Boston has a lean, athletic body type and flashes the speed and range to cover a large area in the deep half of the field.

He is comfortable in space with the natural balance and body control to handle cover assignments or come off his man to make a play on the ball. Boston has room to clean up his tackling technique, but he led the team in tackles last season with 86 stops and isn't afraid to get physical with ballcarriers. He still has room to grow, but Boston is in that discussion to be one of the top safety prospects drafted next April. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
