 Draft Scout Terrence Brooks News
05/12/14 - With the first of their two third-round picks, the Ravens filled one of their biggest needs. The Ravens did so with Brooks, a rangy free safety who could allow the Ravens to shift free safety Matt Elam to his natural strong safety position. It also marked the third straight pick the Ravens used to upgrade the middle of their defense. "I felt like they needed a safety, and I just felt like a lot of teams needed safeties this year and they just kept passing me up," Brooks said. "I just knew that at least one of them was going to bite and I'm glad it's the Ravens. I've already got Timmy there, and I love that team just from how physical they are. That's how I play my game, just so physical and just mean. "I was like if I could take one guy with me, it would be Timmy. I just know we do damage together. We did it at Florida State. We can do it anywhere. I know there's another real strong safety over there with Matt Elam. I'm going to feel right at home."

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Brooks ran the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds and registered a 38-inch vertical leap. That's as fast as many cornerbacks. He started 13 games for the national champion Seminoles, and had 56 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one sack and two forced fumbles. "I feel like my game is very fast," said Brooks, who had five career interceptions. "When I make a decision, it's right away and I get there very fast. I feel like my acceleration is one of my strong points." - The Sports Xchange

05/12/14 - A closer look at the Ravens' picks: Round 3/79 - Terrence Brooks, FS, 5-11, 198, Florida State...Drafting Brooks allows the Ravens to shift Matt Elam to his natural strong safety spot. Brooks is fast (4.42 speed) and a big hitter who's a centerfielder type. - The Sports Xchange
05/08/14 - 2014 DRAFT SCOUT FINAL TOP 100: 67/3. Terrence Brooks, FS, Florida State, 5-11, 198, 4.37, 2-3...Swiss Army knife on the back seven. Former cornerback who can match up well with those pesky slot receivers and yet an enforcer who can hit like a linebacker. Brooks is a serious-minded, weight-room fanatic who will light up opponents on special teams. Frankly: Want to toughen up your defense? Brooks will be happy to set the tone regardless of where you line him up. - Frank Cooney, NFLDraftScout.com
04/21/14 - 2014 NFL Draft Defensive Backs: Terrence Brooks, Florida State, 5-11, 198, 4.42...Swiss Army knife on the back seven. Former cornerback who can match up well with those pesky slot receivers and yet is an enforcer who can hit like a linebacker. Brooks is a serious-minded, weight-room fanatic who will light up opponents on special teams. Frankly: Want to toughen up your defense? Brooks will be happy to set the tone regardless of where you line him up. - Frank Cooney, The Sports Xchange
04/17/14 - Five players who should be on the Indianapolis Colts' draft radar: FS Terrence Brooks, Florida State: While the Colts made some strong moves in free agency, the loss of steady homegrown product Antoine Bethea (to San Francisco) makes finding a cover safety to pair with hard-hitting LaRon Landry an obvious priority. Brooks' relatively slim frame (5-foot-11, 198) and lack of interceptions could push him into the deep second round but he's a fluid, instinctive centerfielder with speed to burn. - Rob Rang, The Sports Xchange
