07/07/14 - Duke's top NFL Draft-eligible prospects to watch in 2014: 2. ILB Kelby Brown...Brown rebounded from having to sit out the entire 2012 season due to a torn right ACL, to earning first-team All-ACC accolades as a redshirt junior in 2013 after putting together a 120-tackle campaign, including 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions and four double-digit tackle games including two whereby he notched at least 17 stops. Though he lacks elite athleticism, he's more rangy than given credit for, and his strong instincts allow him to put himself in position to make plays that others may make by relying more on athletic ability.

He's fluid in space, demonstrates good redirect quickness and despite carrying a lighter frame than you might prefer for an inside 'backer, plays with a fearless demeanor and physical nature, with solid wrap-up tackling technique. He's still a little lighter than scouts would probably want to see for a guy who will line up on the inside at the next level, and his range may not be good enough to put on the outside, so some added bulk and another year of good health to show that he's fully recovered from the ACL injury could put him in position to be a top-half draft selection next year. - Derek Stephens, NFLDraftScout.com

05/22/14 - 2014 LOTT IMPACT TROPHY WATCH LIST: Kelby Brown, LB, Duke...Brown, a 6-2, 230-pound native of Charlotte, N.C., totaled 114 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and a team-leading eight quarterback hurries. He grabbed two interceptions, including the game-clinching pick in the 13-6 win at No. 16 Virginia Tech, and caused two fumbles and recovered two more. Brown posted four double-digit tackle games, including a pair of 17-stop efforts. - Duke football
12/31/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Kelby Brown tends to be the most physical of Duke's linebackers and he's also recognized as one of the leaders on the defense. He has been nicked up from time to time and his absence has been reason for concern for the Blue Devils. His mobility could be put to test against QB Johnny Manziel and that high-powered Texas A&M offense. - The Sports Xchange
12/13/13 - 2013 ALL-ACC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): LB-Kelby Brown, Jr.-R, Duke (17)...Brown ranks fourth in the ACC with 8.8 tackles per game, leads Duke with eight quarterback hurries and ranks tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has 9.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, two interceptions and a pass breakup as the fulcrum of a Duke defense that is holding opponents to 24.7 points per game with 26 forced turnovers. - Duke football
12/04/13 - 2013 ALL-ACC FIRST TEAM (MEDIA): LB Kelby Brown, Duke, 6-2, 220, Jr.-R, Matthews, N.C. (146)...Brown, a 6-2, 230-pound native of Matthews, N.C., ranks second in the ACC with 9.2 tackles per game, leads Duke with eight quarterback hurries and ranks tied for the team lead with two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He has 8.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, two interceptions and a pass breakup as the fulcrum of a Duke defense that is holding opponents to 23.0 points per game with 21 forced turnovers. - Duke football
