05/10/12 - DE Tyrone Crawford, the Cowboys' third-round pick, was discovered to have a heart murmur at the combine. The Cowboys looked into it and discovered it was nothing to worry about and drafted him anyway.
"The heart murmur issue is one that I'm satisfied is OK for us," Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said.
04/29/12 - Cowboys coach Jason Garrett likes overachievers and believe he got one with a lot of upside in Boise State defensive end Tyrone Crawford. Crawford was taken by the Cowboys in the third round Friday night. After waiting through the entire second round and 17 picks of the third round, the Cowboys used the 81st pick of the draft on the 6-4, 280-pound defensive end from Boise State. Crawford played running back in high school in Canada. He went the junior college route to hone his football skills but was only recruited by Boise State. He is raw and very athletic and drew the NFL's attention because of his ability to get to the quarterback. He led Boise State in sacks (6.5) and tackles for loss (13.5), causing three fumbles, recovering two fumbles and blocking a kick as a senior. "He's a guy that we really feel like has some upside," Garrett said. "He played at a very good program. A number of players the last few days have been drafted from Boise. He played a high level of competition, he played the right way, he practiced the right way. "The thing we like about him the most is his motor, the way he plays. He's a high-energy guy." - The Sports Xchange
