Draft Scout Dwayne Bowe News
01/06/14 - WR Dwayne Bowe caught eight passes for 150 yards against Indianapolis, establishing a new Chiefs postseason record for receiving yardage. Bowe's performance broke the previous standard of 142 yards set by wide receiver Stephone Paige in January of 1991. His eight receptions tied the team's post-season record, sharing the top spot with Paige, wide receiver Andre Rison and running back Ed Podolak.
01/02/14 - WR Dwayne Bowe has been cleared to play for the Chiefs in Saturday's game in the playoffs against Indianapolis. Bowe was held out of last Sunday's game in San Diego because of a concussion. He passed the tests in the NFL protocols on Monday, allowing him to return to practice. On Tuesday, he was cleared to play.
12/30/13 - WR Dwayne Bowe was expected to be cleared for participation in practice on Tuesday after missing the San Diego game because of a concussion. "(Bowe) is making progress on the concussion side of things and will probably work tomorrow," said Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
12/27/13 - The Kansas City Chiefs ruled wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and outside linebacker Tamba Hali out of Sunday's regular-season finale against the San Diego Chargers. Neither practiced Friday, with Bowe recovering from a concussion and Hali dealing with a sore knee.
Coach Andy Reid said Bowe practiced Tuesday and Wednesday, but "didn't field right" when he arrived back at the team's facility on Thursday. Bowe, who landed awkwardly on his neck during last week's game, will go through the concussion protocol in hopes of returning next week.
"I'm just glad that we were on top of it, that's the main thing," Reid said. "I don't care about anything else but getting him right. I just want to make sure he's ok."
12/26/13 - WR Dwayne Bowe did not practice on Thursday with the Chiefs, and the team listed him with a concussion. Bowe was reportedly a full participant in practice on Tuesday but returned after a Christmas Day off and was not on the practice field. More than likely, Bowe is experiencing the after-effects of the hit he took on his neck in last Sunday's game against Indianapolis. On the play, Colts S LaRon Landry was penalized 15 yards for an illegal hit on Bowe. Given the meaningless status of the season finale in San Diego for the Chiefs postseason, it's unlikely Bowe will play against the Chargers.
