 Draft Scout *Justin Hunter News
10/17/16 - WR Justin Hunter is trying to provide a much-needed lift for Buffalo's sagging passing attack. Signed as a free agent a few weeks ago after being cut by the Titans, the former second-round pick from Tennessee is trying to resurrect his career, and so far, he has two catches for Buffalo, and both have gone for touchdowns. Last week in Los Angeles he caught a four-yard scoring pass from Tyrod Taylor, and Sunday against the 49ers he caught a 30-yarder. After playing very little against the Rams, Hunter was on the field for 58 percent of the snaps against the 49ers. He was targeted only twice, but at least he's making plays when given the chance. "I had an inside corner route and he played outside and I just tried to beat the safety with speed," Hunter said of his touchdown. "Tyrod told me right before the play, if he plays this type of way, he's going to throw it up. He did it. I'm feeling pretty comfortable, but I still need to learn certain things. But coming along good. You know, coach is on me, studying extra and all that. It's going to come."
10/10/16 - WR Justin Hunter made his Bills debut against the Rams. On the first snap that he played, he caught a 4-yard TD pass in the first quarter.
09/30/16 - WR Justin Hunter was claimed on waivers two days following his release from the Miami Dolphins. Hunter was a second-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2013. He has appeared in 36 games and recorded 68 receptions for 1,116 yards and eight touchdowns in his career.
09/05/16 - WR Justin Hunter was signed Sunday, a day after his release from Tennessee. Hunter, a second-round pick in 2013, didn't do well with the Titans and said he considers his opportunity with Miami as a second chance.
08/04/16 - WR Justin Hunter continues to have issues with consistency. The Titans would certainly like one of their most athletic receivers to step up and give them a big play threat, but while he continues to flash, Coach Mike Mularkey wants to see it more often. Hunter has fallen to third team following the arrival of Andre Johnson. Mularkey was asked about Hunter on Thursday, and did not mince words, especially after he had a drop in one-on-one drills when he did not tuck the ball after beating cornerback Kalan Reed on a deep route, only to allow the rookie to knock the ball free. "Again, (we want to see) consistency and making some plays," Mularkey said. "We had a deep ball today in one-on-one. You've got to catch that. You have to catch that and you have to put it away. You have to score. That has to be every single day, so you quarterback knows, 'If I've got a one-on-one and he's over there, he's got to win.' That's really up to him. The inconsistency has not allowed him to move up the charts." Hunter already knows what coaches want to see. "Consistency. That's what they want to see. Being aggressive attacking the ball and everything like that. I think if I just keep those two keys with me, I'll be all right."
