 Draft Scout *Justin Hunter News
09/01/15 - WR Justin Hunter was not at practice on Monday as he was excused for his court date, which is scheduled on Tuesday. Charges against Hunter were reduced last week to assault and battery from a felony to a misdemeanor.
08/28/15 - WR Justin Hunter, initially charged with felony malicious wounding for his involvement in a bar fight in July, has had the charge reduced to misdemeanor assault and battery. His trial will begin next Tuesday in Virginia Beach, Va., the Commonwealth's Attorney office said Friday.
07/23/15 - WR Justin Hunter, who was charged with malicious wounding for his involvement in a July 3 bar fight, is expected at training camp next week. Hunter was released on $25,000 bond Tuesday after being formally charged a day after he turned himself in to authorities in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va. The charge stems from an incident in the oceanfront resort area during the Fourth of July weekend. Hunter is accused of "malicious intent, stabbing, cutting and wounding" in a brawl that hospitalized one person in Virginia Beach. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 3. Commonwealth's Attorney Wendy Alexander alleged Hunter started the fight on July 3 when he interrupted a conversation a man was having with someone else. Hunter punched the man in the face twice, and the man suffered a broken jaw and a cracked tooth and was taken to a nearby hospital, Alexander said. The Virginia Attorney's Office said the felony is punishable by five to 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Hunter's attorney, Toby Vick, told The Tennessean that Hunter would report to training camp in Nashville, Tenn., on July 30. Hunter, 24, was Tennessee's second-round pick in 2013. He has caught 46 passes for 852 yards and seven touchdowns. He missed the final four games last season after suffering a lacerated spleen against the Houston Texans.
12/02/14 - WR Justin Hunter (lacerated spleen) was placed on reserve/injured by the Titans Tuesday (Dec. 2).
12/01/14 - WR Justin Hunter was still in a Houston hospital after suffering a lacerated spleen on a hit in Sunday's game. Hunter was running a pass route on a ball that was intercepted. Hunter was then leveled on a hit by safety Danieal Manning. He returned momentarily, but then began having stomach pains and was taken to the hospital. According to receiver Nate Washington, Hunter was spitting up blood on the sideline. "Justin is actually doing well. I talked to him last night and this afternoon. He is in Houston at the hospital and we expect him to be released over the next day or two. Everything is going well there, so that's good," Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said. Whisenhunt said it was too early to know yet whether or not Hunter would miss the remainder of the season.
