 Draft Scout *Justin Hunter News
09/05/16 - WR Justin Hunter was signed Sunday, a day after his release from Tennessee. Hunter, a second-round pick in 2013, didn't do well with the Titans and said he considers his opportunity with Miami as a second chance.
08/04/16 - WR Justin Hunter continues to have issues with consistency. The Titans would certainly like one of their most athletic receivers to step up and give them a big play threat, but while he continues to flash, Coach Mike Mularkey wants to see it more often. Hunter has fallen to third team following the arrival of Andre Johnson. Mularkey was asked about Hunter on Thursday, and did not mince words, especially after he had a drop in one-on-one drills when he did not tuck the ball after beating cornerback Kalan Reed on a deep route, only to allow the rookie to knock the ball free. "Again, (we want to see) consistency and making some plays," Mularkey said. "We had a deep ball today in one-on-one. You've got to catch that. You have to catch that and you have to put it away. You have to score. That has to be every single day, so you quarterback knows, 'If I've got a one-on-one and he's over there, he's got to win.' That's really up to him. The inconsistency has not allowed him to move up the charts." Hunter already knows what coaches want to see. "Consistency. That's what they want to see. Being aggressive attacking the ball and everything like that. I think if I just keep those two keys with me, I'll be all right."
06/09/16 - WR Justin Hunter tweaked his ankle a bit in organized team activities and was held out of practice on Thursday.
05/26/16 - WR Justin Hunter is down to his last chance to prove himself to the Titans. The 2013 second-round pick has not prospered the way the Titans had hoped he would, putting up no more than 28 receptions in any season and ending on injured reserve two years in a row. Now entering the final year of his contract, Hunter knows the onus is on him to produce. "It's one shot. Just like when people come in and try out, they've got one shot and they're going to make the best of it and make that team," Hunter said. Hunter trained in the offseason in San Francisco running hills, and also changed his diet and training, adding six pounds. He is now at 209 pounds. Hunter will have to earn his playing time with Dorial Green-Beckham, Kendall Wright and Rishard Matthews all currently ahead of him in the pecking order at receiver.
11/18/15 - WR Justin Hunter (broken ankle) was placed on reserve/injured by the Titans Tuesday (Nov. 17).
