Draft Scout DaQuan Jones News
05/12/14 - A closer look at the Titans' picks: Round 4/112 - DaQuan Jones, NT, 6-4, 322, Penn State...Jones is the type of defensive lineman the Titans need as they switch from a 4-3 to a 3-4 system. He is plenty big to handle the nose tackle role, and also could see some time at the end positions. Jones has a high motor and has some pass-rush ability from the interior, which will help as the Titans make a scheme transition. - The Sports Xchange
05/08/14 - 2014 DRAFT SCOUT FINAL TOP 100: 64/7. DaQuan Jones, DT, Penn State, 6-4, 322, 5.34, 2...God-given height, weight, quickness offer a massive foundation on which to build a great career. After shedding about 25 pounds to add stamina, he led the team in 2013 with 11.5 tackles for loss (minus-42 yards), had three sacks and a fumble recovery. Has the ability to get low and own a wide piece of real estate against two good blockers and when there is only one blocker he can dominate. Jones is just beginning to realize his potential and the value of hard work. Frankly: Back in the day when rookies weren't expected to do too much too soon, players like Jones were golden. With patience and continued conditioning, some team could steal a future standout. - Frank Cooney, NFLDraftScout.com

The former Johnson City Senior HS standout is the 13th different Nittany Lion defensive lineman to earn first-team All-Big Ten honors since 1998 under the tutelage of defensive line coach Larry Johnson.
"It means a lot to be part of the rich history and tradition of all the great players at Penn State," said Jones. "This shows how far I've been able to come over the last year. And I could not have grown without the help of the rest of the defensive line and the defense. I've always worked hard because I wanted to leave a mark on the program. To join the group of all of the great defensive linemen is awesome. It's something that you can't even describe. It is a great feeling." - Penn State football
