01/15/10 - DE Baraka Atkins signed a reserve/future contract with Denver.
12/23/09 - DT Baraka Atkins was released to make room on the 49ers' 53-man roster for kicker Ricky Schmitt. The 49ers signed Atkins on Dec. 9 to fill the roster spot for when the club placed Kentwan Balmer on injured reserve.
12/22/09 - DT Baraka Atkins, who had been with the 49ers for two weeks, was released by the team.
12/13/09 - DT Baraka Atkins is not expected to be active for the 49ers' game Monday night against the Arizona Cardinals. Atkins was signed to take the roster spot that opened when Kentwan Balmer was lost for the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
12/09/09 - DL Baraka Atkins signed with the 49ers. Atkins (6-4, 268) originally entered the NFL as a fourth round draft pick (120th overall) of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2007 Draft. He has played in 21 career games and recorded 28 tackles, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and one pass defensed. Atkins was released by the Seahawks in September.
