Draft Scout Keon Lyn News
06/04/14 - CB Keon Lyn was waived by the Colts June 2.
05/13/14 - Indianapolis Colts Agree to Terms with 19 Undrafted Free Agents: Cornerback Keon Lyn, 6-1, 190 pounds, played in 38 career games at Syracuse and totaled 89 tackles (75 solo), 20 passes defensed, five tackles for loss, three interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles and 1.0 sack. As a junior in 2012, he played in all 13 games (10 starts) and tied for seventh in the Big East in interceptions (three) and eighth in passes defensed (10). Lyn also added a career-high 46 tackles (36 solo), three tackles for loss and one forced fumble. - Indianapolis Colts
10/07/13 - Syracuse loses senior starter CB Keon Lyn for the year...Keon Lyn will miss the rest of the season after sustaining a lower-body injury. The Syracuse secondary has been banged up this season, and matters became worse with the announcement that Keon Lyn's season is over. Scott Shafer said Lyn has a "lower-body injury that is going to require some surgery" and the school confirmed that the rehabilitation process will keep him out for the rest of the 2013 season. The senior cornerback from Mirmar, Fla. has been a three-year starter, and at this point in the season it is likely that his career with the Orange is over.
Fellow cornerback Brandon Reddish was listed as a game-time decision to start against Clemson. The junior dressed for the game but did not play in the 49-14 loss. With Lyn gone, he may have to start opposite Ri'Shard Anderson. If not, Syracuse will likely move sophomore Julian Whigham, Lyn's backup on the depth chart, into the starting lineup. Syracuse hits the road for the first time in ACC play, traveling to Raleigh, N.C. to face N.C. State . Not only is it a division game for the new ACC foes, but both teams are looking to bounce back from disappointing conference losses last week.
The Wolfpack could have starting quarterback Brandon Mitchell back from a foot injury, but the Orange secondary will be tested regardless of the quarterback thanks to Bryan Underwood and Rashard Smith; two All-ACC caliber receiving targets at wide receiver. - Chip Patterson, CBSSports.com
09/12/13 - Scouting the Syracuse pass defense: Syracuse will have to watch Duke transfer Tyree Watkins, as well as deep threat Anthony Carrington. However, the Wagner passing attack hasn't been much to worry about through the season's first two games. - The Sports Xchange
09/06/13 - Scouting the Syracuse pass defense: Syracuse's secondary faces a different set of challenges depending on which Northwestern quarterback plays. Kain Colter, who got knocked out of the Wildcats' opener with a concussion, is an option quarterback who will make the Orange secondary work to keep short runs from becoming long gainers. If he's out, and the game is entirely in the hands of Trevor Siemian, expect Northwestern to be more of a traditional Big Ten offense, handing the ball off a lot on and testing the secondary mostly with traditional drop-back passes. - The Sports Xchange
