11/18/15 - WR/KR Devin Hester, currently on reserve/injured, designated for return with the Falcons, had his 21-day practice period begin Tuesday (Nov. 17).
11/16/15 - RS Devin Hester, who has not played all season with a turf toe injury, returned to practice on Monday.
Hester is on the team's short-term injured reserve list and is eligible to return against Tampa Bay on Dec. 6.
The Falcons placed Hester, who was battling a nasty turf toe injury, on injured reserve-designed to return on Oct. 6, and he was not eligible to practice until six weeks has passed.
Hester, formerly of the Chicago Bears, played 2014 with the Falcons. Last season, he played in 16 games with one start, and had 38 catches for 504 yards and two touchdowns. Hester also led the NFL in yards per punt return with 13.3, number of kickoff/punt returns (63), and combined kick and punt yards with 1,368 yards.
Eric Weems has handled the kickoff and punt returns this season for the Falcons.
10/06/15 - WR Devin Hester was placed on short-term injured reserve with the turf toe injury that has sidelined him through the first four games.
Hester will not be eligible to practice with the Falcons for six weeks and will not be eligible to play until Week 13 at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"We have been trying to treat his toe injury the best we could, and he has been doing everything in his power to get back on the field, but at this point we think this is the best plan of action," coach Dan Quinn said. "We are confident this time will let Devin get healthy and be a big contributor to this team once he is back on the field."
