Draft Scout Trey Millard News
03/22/14 - 2014 Pro Days: Saunders stumbles, teammates healing at Oklahoma...Millard and Colvin's recoveries appear to be coming along well. “I'm running pretty confidently,” Millard told SoonerSports.com. “The next step is kind of changing direction. Right now, I'm just running straight, but I'm doing well with it. It's encouraging. There's still a lot of interest (from NFL teams). Unfortunately, I'm not able to really do anything here, but there's quite a bit of film from over the years, so hopefully that speaks for itself." - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
12/12/13 - 2013 ALL-BIG 12 FIRST TEAM (COACHES): FB Trey Millard, Oklahoma, Sr., Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge...Millard suffered a season-ending injury against Texas Tech on Oct. 26, but finished the year with 97 rushing yards and 78 receiving yards with pair of touchdowns and his usual standout blocking. - Oklahoma football
10/28/13 - Despite the win on Saturday over previously unbeaten Texas Tech, Oklahoma received a crushing blow as they lost senior FB Trey Millard to a season-ending knee injury. He tore two ligaments in his knee, including his ACL, and will have surgery that will keep him sidelined for the foreseeable future. A Swiss army knife for the Sooner offense, Millard is a versatile offensive weapon with his ability as a receiver, ballcarrier and blocker. The injury will likely keep him from working out prior to the 2014 NFL Draft, which will unfortunately severely damage his draft stock. Millard was considered a borderline top-100 prospect prior to the injury, but this setback will likely push him to day three, if he is drafted at all. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
10/26/13 - Sooners lose FB Millard for rest of season...Fullback Trey Millard tore knee ligaments in Oklahoma's 38-30 victory over Texas Tech on Saturday in Norman, Okla., and will miss the remainder of the season. Sooners coach Bob Stoops said the players were crushed by the news of Millard's injury after knocking off the previously unbeaten Red Raiders. Millard is expected to have surgery in a few weeks. Millard carried once for six yards and caught one pass for 14 yards against Texas Tech.
A senior, Millard has started since his freshman season. He had rushed for only 91 yards and added 64 yards receiving this season, but he played a key role in the offense with his run blocking and pass protection. Junior Aaron Ripkowski likely will take Millard's place in the lineup for the rest of the season. - The Sports Xchange
09/06/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: FB Trey Millard had just one rush for four yards against Louisiana-Monroe, but he is critical to the Sooners' running game. "People fail to realize if Trey is running with the ball, (Roy) Finch is blocking for him and that doesn't work as well," Stoops said. "We do want Trey to be able to catch the ball, run the ball, do all kind of things. As games go it will happen. All those plays you see Trevor (Knight) coming around the edge, he's blocking and blocking well. He does what we ask him to do really well." - The Sports Xchange
