09/02/17 - TE Derek Carrier was reportedly traded by the Redskins to the Rams for a 2018 seventh-round pick Saturday. Carrier, 27, is reunited with Rams coach Sean McVay, who served as the Redskins' tight end coach from 2011 to 2013 and offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2016. Last season with the Redskins, Carrier played in just eight games and had two catches for 10 yards. He started 11 of the 12 games he played in 2015, setting career highs in catches (17), receiving yards (141) and touchdowns (one).
11/07/16 - TE Derek Carrier commenced the 21-day practice period on Monday. He returned to practice for the first time since suffering a torn ACL and MCL last season against the Chicago Bears.
10/19/16 - TE Derek Carrier is eligible to return to practice any time now but remains on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list as he continues recovery from torn right knee ligaments in December. He worked on a side field Wednesday with team trainers during practice.
