Draft Scout News
03/14/15 - WR Kenny Stills was traded by the Saints to the Dolphins Friday (March 13) for LB Dannell Ellerbe and a third-round draft choice.
"We are excited that we were able to acquire Kenny Stills," said Dolphins General Manager Dennis Hickey. "He is a talented, young and ascending player who has been very productive in his first two seasons in the league."
The 6-0, 194-pound Stills joins Miami after spending the previous two seasons (2013-14) with New Orleans. He was originally a fifth-round selection (144th overall) of the Saints in the 2013 NFL draft. In his career, he has played in 31 regular season games with 16 starts and also has appeared in two playoff games with one start. He has recorded 95 receptions for 1,572 receiving yards (16.5 avg.) and eight touchdowns to go along with four rushing attempts for eight yards. His 16.5 average yards per reception in his career is ninth-best in the NFL since he entered the league in 2013 and his 20.0 average per catch in his rookie campaign topped the NFL.
In 2014, Stills played in 15 games with six starts and notched 63 receptions for 931 receiving yards (14.8 average) and three touchdown receptions. His 63 receptions and 931 receiving yards were both career highs and his 931 yards led New Orleans. Further, Stills caught 63 of the 84 passes thrown his way and his 75.0 percent of targets caught tied Dolphins wide receiver Jarvis Landry for the second-highest percentage among wide receivers in the NFL with a minimum of 50 receptions.
