10/14/14 - DE George Uko was signed to the practice squad by the Buccaneers Monday (Oct. 13). Uko (6-3, 284) originally entered the league this season as a college free agent with the New Orleans Saints. Uko, who played collegiately at USC, spent the 2014 offseason and preseason with New Orleans, before being waived on Aug. 26.
05/13/14 - New Orleans Saints announce 2014 rookie free agent class: George Uko – Defensive Lineman, Southern California (6-3, 284): Uko was a two-time honorable mention All-Pac 12 selection while appearing in 39 games with 29 starts for the Trojans along the defensive line. In his first year at defensive end, after spending first his two seasons on the interior, the Chino, Calif., native tallied 36 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, five sacks and one forced fumble in 2013. In his three-year career, the versatile lineman was able to total 85 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss, 11.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and two passes defensed. - New Orleans Saints
12/31/13 - USC defensive lineman George Uko declares for draft...Another USC Trojan has declared his intention to enter the 2014 NFL Draft. Following in the footsteps of safety Dion Bailey and center Marcus Martin, junior defensive lineman George Uko said on Twitter that he would forgo his senior season with the Trojans. Uko finished tied for second on the team with five sacks, and finished fifth with seven tackles for loss.
"Thank you for everything, Trojan family," Uko wrote in the Tweet shared by the Orange County Register, "but me and my family have decided its best for me to go[.] I have decided to enter the 2014 NFL Draft. " The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Uko split time between defensive end and defensive tackle in 2014 for first-year defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast.
