01/07/14 - University of Tulsa running back Trey Watts has accepted an invitation to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl Game. The game will be Saturday, January 18 at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., and will be broadcast by ESPN2. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. Watts was a first-team All-Conference USA selection after leading the conference in rushing with 1,329 yards. He was also a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy that's given to a player who began his college football career as a walk-on. - AP Sports

12/04/13 - 2013 BURLSWORTH TROPHY FINALIST (NATION'S TOP FORMER WALK-ON): Tulsa RB Trey Watts...A senior from Fairfax, Va., Watts (5'11", 200) leads Tulsa in rushing and has the most rushing yards in Conference USA with 1,215 yards through 11 games this season. It marks the second straight 1,000-yard rushing season for Watts, making him only the fourth player in school history with 1,000 yards in two separate seasons. Last week, Watts had a career-best rushing total for the second straight week with 189 yards and three touchdowns against Louisiana Tech.
Watts ranks fifth in the country for all-purpose yards, 13th for rushing yards and 18th for rushing yards per game. Watts leads C-USA in all-purpose yards with his 174.5-yard average per game. He has turned in seven 100-yard rushing games this season and has 14 for his career. In his 48-game career, Watts is only the second Tulsa player to surpass 6,000 all-purpose yards with 6,108 yards and is just the third Hurricane player to rush for over 3,000 yards with 3,401 yards and 18 TDs. 11/24/13 - Trey Watts ran for a game-high 178 yards and scored three touchdowns Saturday night and Tulsa beat Louisiana Tech 24-14. Tulsa (3-8, 2-5 Conference USA) scored first on a 6-yard run by Watts, but Louisiana Tech (4-7, 3-4) replied with a 10-yard scoring run by Blake Martin. Carl Salazar kicked a 26-yard field goal to give Tulsa a 10-7 halftime lead.
The teams traded TDs in the third quarter, an 11-yard run by Watts for Tulsa and a 4-yard pass from Ryan Higgins to Jon Greenwalt for the Bulldogs, and Watts put the game out of reach on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter. Lousiana Tech generated 531 yards of total offense to Tulsa's 478, but Tulsa won the ground game. Watts carried the ball for 37 of Tulsa's 56 running plays Tevin King ran for 11 yards on 21 carries for the Bulldogs. - AP Sports
