Draft Scout *Teddy Bridgewater News
08/29/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater got the start at Tennessee as the Vikings rested veteran starter Matt Cassel. He directed a couple of scoring drives and left with a 10-0 lead after completing 4 of 9 passes for 17 yards and a 3-yard touchdown pass to WR Adam Thielen. Bridgewater made it through the preseason without a turnover.
08/25/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater's 117.3 passer rating leads the league among quarterbacks that have attempted at least 40 preseason passes.
08/24/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater was handed a couple of short fields and took advantage of them with a few short touch passes for touchdowns to tight end Allen Reisner. Bridgewater completed 4 of 7 passes for 40 yards, no turnovers and a 113.1 passer rating.
08/18/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater could get some playing time with the first unit on Saturday. He got some first-team reps in the preseason opener but played with the backups exclusively in the second game against the Cardinals. In the latter, Bridgewater posted a 136.9 passer rating while completing 16 of 20 passes for 177 yards, no turnovers and two touchdowns. He brought the Vikings from behind twice in the fourth quarter, throwing the game-winning touchdown with 18 seconds left.
07/30/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater has impressed offensive coordinator Norv Turner in the way he handles physical pressure from the defense.
"He doesn't look at the line; he feels it, keeps his eyes up the field, makes throws with people around him and throws in real tight quarters where he doesn't have much room to work," Turner said. "I think that's one of the best things he does right now."
Being able to throw in a cluttered pocket is one of the ways Turner judges a college quarterback just entering the league.
"You have to be able to play that way," Turner said. "There are guys who need a lot of room in the pocket to throw and then there are guys who don't need any room. I call this an NFL throw, as opposed to a college throw. You can bring 100 guys in here and every one of them could make a college throw."
