Draft Scout *Teddy Bridgewater News
11/16/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater's first-quarter touchdown pass to Rhett Ellison was just Bridgewater's fourth touchdown pass of the season.
11/03/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater surpassed a bar that wasn't set very high for a franchise that has been around since 1961. He now has three victories, which is a team record for a rookie quarterback. He had been tied with Fran Tarkenton, who was 2-8 in 1961, and Christian Ponder, who was 2-8 in 2011.
After Sunday's 0-for-4 start on balls thrown 20 yards or farther, Bridgewater completed 4 of 5 on that distance, including two on the game-winning drive in the fourth quarter.
"I honestly don't believe that Teddy has a problem with the deep ball," coach Mike Zimmer said. "What I do believe is that we probably need to throw it some more and we will hit it. I do know one thing about Teddy, if it is a problem, that he will work extremely hard at whatever his deficiencies are. If he believes that's one of them, I'm sure he will work at it.
"We're going to continue to do it and continue to practice it. I thought it was important this week that we took some shots down the field and even if you don't hit them, that's not necessarily a bad thing. What's the difference in just missing a 50-yard shot or you gain one yard? It's 2nd-and-9 or 2nd-and-10, it's the same deal. There is a lot of strategy involved with some of those things that we are doing."
11/02/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater's 26 completions Sunday were the second most by a rookie in franchise history (Christian Ponder had 29 in 2011). It was his third time this season without throwing an interception, which is also a rookie club record.
10/26/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater put together a solid performance in Sunday's 19-13 overtime win over the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium, primarily by cutting down on the mistakes you'd expect out of a rookie. Bridgewater threw for 241 yards and a touchdown on 24-for-42 passing and didn't turn the ball over. He led a two-minute drill in the fourth quarter that ended with kicker Blair Walsh's game-tying field goal as time expired. "It helps a lot. It shows what kind of team you have," Bridgewater said of the drive. "It feels good. It's a momentum-booster for me, but all we can do is continue to build off of it." The Vikings are 2-2 in Bridgewater's four starts this season.
10/12/14 - QB Teddy Bridgewater was 23 of 37 passing for 188 yards and three interceptions. His pick on Minnesota's first drive of the game, was the first of his NFL career.
