Draft Scout Jermauria Rasco News
08/19/14 - LSU's top NFL Draft-eligible prospects to watch in 2014: 5. DE Jermauria Rasco, Senior...Rasco had to bide his time behind a great deal of talent over his first two seasons in Baton Rouge but emerged as LSU's most productive pass-rusher last season, his first as a full-time starter. He led the team with four sacks and posted 56 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, overall. Rasco doesn't possess the rare blend of length and fluidity that makes his teammate, Hunter, such an intriguing talent but he's a more polished player, at this time. He has good initial quickness and balance, incorporates a nice spin (and swim) move into his pass rush and has the powerful core to hold up in run support. Like Hunter, Rasco has "greasy knees" which allow him to break down against quick ball-carriers in the open field and explode laterally in either direction to corral them. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
08/09/14 - 2014 PRESEASON ALL-SEC THIRD TEAM (MEDIA): DL Jermauria Rasco, LSU (79)...Played and started all 13 games ... Posted 56 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and a team-high 4.0 sacks ... Capped regular season with career-high seven tackles in win over Arkansas ... Also forced and recovered a fumble in LSU's comeback win over the Razorbacks ... Had a sack and batted down a pass in 34-10 win over Texas A&M as the Tigers held the Aggies to season lows for points and total yards (299) ... Had four quarterback hurries and a tackle for loss in win over Florida. - LSU football
10/15/13 - Beware of the LSU Tigers. Les Miles' young D is growing up fast. They bottled up Florida on Saturday, overwhelming the Gators. Florida's O-line had only allowed seven sacks in the first five games, but surrendered four against LSU. LT D.J. Humphries was flagged for a couple of false starts and UF was held to below three yards a carry on 48 attempts. DE Jermauria Rasco was credited with four hurries. - Bruce Feldman, CBSSports.com
10/12/13 - Les Miles repeatedly dismissed the notion that LSU's defense was as vulnerable as it had looked recently. For now, at least, he is a coach validated. The Tigers were in Florida quarterback Tyler Murphy's face all game, batting down passes, racking up sacks and keeping their opponent out of the end zone for the first time all season.
Jeremy Hill did his part with 121 yards on 19 carries, and No. 10 LSU celebrated a vintage victory in Death Valley, 17-6 over No. 17 Florida on Saturday. ''The more time we are getting together with this defense, the better we are becoming,'' said defensive end Jermauria Rasco, who assisted on one of LSU's eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage. ''It is just taking some time and I think the evidence is there now.'' - AP Sports
08/31/13 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: DE Jermauria Rasco was held out of contact work until the third and final preseason scrimmage as a precaution after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. Rasco is being counted on to be an impact edge rusher after serving as an understudy to Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery before they left for the NFL after last season. Rasco appears to have the ability to be another impact end, but he's taking on far greater responsibility than he's had before. - The Sports Xchange
