Draft Scout Justin Worley News
12/08/15 - QB Justin Worley had his practice-squad contract terminated by the Bears Tuesday (Dec. 8).
11/26/15 - QB Justin Worley was signed by the Bears to their practice squad Tuesday (Nov. 24).
11/05/14 - Tennessee QB Worley finished for season...Tennessee starting quarterback Justin Worley will miss the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury that will require surgery, coach Butch Jones said Tuesday. The injury prevented Worley, a senior, from playing in the past two games. He started Tennessee's first seven games and was 157-for-252 for 1,579 yards with 12 touchdown passes and eight interceptions. In a statement, Jones said Worley will have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. "Justin Worley is out for the rest of the year," Jones said. "He will undergo surgery, but he is still going to be around the team. And now he goes from Player Worley to Coach Worley." The surgery will end Worley's college career. It's the second year in a row Worley's season ended early because of an injury. Sophomore Joshua Dobbs started in Worley's place last week and helped Tennessee rally for a 45-42 overtime victory at South Carolina. The Vols are 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the Southeastern Conference. - The Sports Xchange
10/13/14 - Will Tennessee quarterback Justin Worley survive the season? He was sacked five times in the win over Chattanooga (Chattanooga!!!) after getting dumped three times the previous week in the loss to Florida, twice by Georgia, and five times in the loss at Oklahoma for a total of 15 sacks over the last four games. - The Sports Xchange
10/13/14 - TENNESSEE (3-3, 0-2)...Game: Tennessee 45, Chattanooga 10. Tennessee managed only 340 yards in total offense with just 123 coming on the ground, but the Vols compensated for that with four of their six touchdown drives covering only 20 yards or less while another covered only 38 yards. Takeaways set up three of the drives, Cameron Sutton's 42-yard punt return set up the first, and Evan Berry's 68-yard kickoff return set up another.
Takeaway: Quarterback Justin Worley rushed for two touchdowns and passed for three more as the Vols ended a three-game losing streak. Worley had touchdown runs of eight and one yard and touchdown passes covering five, 21, and 19 yards in going 19-of-24 for 198 yards despite being sacked five times. "I thought Justin was more aggressive in his mindset, in his thinking, in the way he played the game," coach Butch Jones said. "He played confident, which is what we're going to continue to need as we move forward." Worley became the first Tennessee QB to rush for two touchdowns in a game since Casey Clausen did it against Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1, 2002. Next: At Mississippi, Oct. 18. - The Sports Xchange
