Draft Scout *Calvin Pryor News
06/01/17 - S Calvin Pryor was acquired by the Cleveland Browns from the New York Jets for linebacker Demario Davis on Thursday. Pryor reportedly was on the trade block after the Jets selected safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL draft. Pryor collected 60 tackles and one forced fumble in 15 games last season. He had 184 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles in 44 career contests since being selected by New York with the 18th overall pick in the 2014 draft.
05/30/17 - S Calvin Pryor showed up for OTAs this week, but he appears to still be buried within the Jets' doghouse. Pryor, who was not at the first OTA practice open to the media on May 23, was at practice Tuesday, when he worked out on the far field. Head coach Todd Bowles said not to read too much into the assignment. "It's a sign that we're moving guys around on both
fields, trying to get guys acclimated a little bit," Bowles said. "We'll just move guys around. Today's a different day for everybody. Tomorrow will be a different day." Of course, Tuesday is the only day this week reporters
are allowed to observe practice, so it would not seem to be
a coincidence that Pryor was left working out of sight with
The Jets let Pryor know he doesn't fit into their short-
or long-term plans last month, when they selected safeties
Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye in the first two rounds of the
draft. Pryor, a first-round pick in 2014, is entering the
final season of his rookie deal.
Pryor likely further annoyed the Jets, first by posting a
profane message on his Instagram account two weeks ago and
then by not showing up to at least the first OTA, though

Pryor's true thoughts on his standing with the Jets will
remain a mystery for at least another week. He declined to
speak with reporters Tuesday.
--WR Eric Decker wasn't at practice Tuesday.
Bowles deployed his usual answer when asked about
Decker's absence, noting, once again, that the practices are
voluntary and players don't have to explain themselves if
they are not present.
Decker is recovering from hip and shoulder surgeries, but
his absence is at least somewhat noteworthy considering he
was present and wearing a red non-contact jersey last week.
He said earlier this month he expects to be ready for
training camp, though Decker is still a candidate to
05/23/17 - S Calvin Pryor did not didn't show up for the first day of OTAs. Technically, these OTAs are voluntary. But of course, not showing up is a bad idea for anyone, especially a player like Pryor who is on the verge of falling off the roster. The Jets made it clear Pryor isn't a part of their future last month, when they became the first team in eight years to select safeties (Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye) in each of the first two rounds of the draft. But Pryor, who is due to make just $1.6 million in the final year of his rookie deal, could still serve as a valuable depth piece for the Jets.
11/30/16 - SS Calvin Pryor (concussion) did not practice Wednesday. Pryor was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Patriots. While he has an extra day to get cleared for next Monday's game against the Colts, the missed practice is not a good sign for his availability.
11/28/16 - SS Calvin Pryor (concussion) was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 22-17 loss to the New England Patriots and was placed in concussion protocol. His availability for next Monday's game against the Indianapolis Colts is unknown.
