03/16/13 - 2013 Cornell Pro Day: Steve Taskerís son works out for scouts at Cornell pro day...The Cornell pro day was held indoors on FieldTurf on March 8. Fourteen teams were present for two players - offensive tackle J.C. Tretter and Luke Tasker. The workout was run by Jim McNally, a longtime NFL offensive line coach who now consults for the Cincinnati Bengals. Tretter attended the NFL Scouting Combine.
Luke Tasker, WR (5-11, 190 pounds) - Son of seven-time Pro Bowl and All Pro wide receiver Steve Tasker, Luke ran the 40-yard dash in 4.59 and 4.63 seconds. He recorded a 33 1/2-inch vertical, a 9-foot-7 broad jump, a 4.07-second short shuttle and a 6.70-second three-cone drill. He benched 225 pounds nine times. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
10/27/12 - Jeff Mathews threw for 525 yards and four touchdowns, and John Wells kicked a 23-yard field goal with 50 seconds left to lead Cornell to a 37-35 victory over Princeton on Saturday. Cornell (4-3, 2-2 Ivy League) pulled ahead 34-28 on Silas Nocita's 2-yard run, but Wells missed the extra point attempt. Quinn Epperly's touchdown pass gave the Tigers (4-3, 3-1) a 35-34 lead with 8:49 left in the fourth quarter. The Tigers were trying to run out the clock when Cornell's Brian Gee forced Dre Nelson's fumble, recovered by Tre' Minor. Mathews hit Grant Gellatly (12 catches, 215 yards) for 35 yards to set up Wells' winning kick. Luke Tasker caught 10 passes for 201 and two TDs for Cornell. Cornell amassed 566 yards to Princeton's 549, but the Tigers turned the ball over four times, two of which ended its final two drives in the fourth quarter. - AP Sports
10/16/12 - OCT 15 IVY LEAGUE CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cornell senior wide receiver Luke Tasker (East Aurora, N.Y.) caught 11 passes for a school-record 280 yards and a touchdown in the Big Red's shootout win against Monmouth. Tasker's 280 receiving yards was good for the third-highest total in Ivy League history. He hauled in a pair of 30+-yard passes inside the Monmouth five-yard line that turned into short touchdown runs during the fourth-quarter comeback. 10/13/12 - Chris Amrhein stepped in for injured Jeff Mathews and threw for 523 yards -- Cornell's second-highest total ever -- to pace the Big Red over Monmouth (N.J.) 41-38 Saturday. Only Mathews, who was listed day-to-day with a neck injury, has thrown for more yards (548) in a game for the Big Red (3-2). Amrhein, a senior getting his first extended playing time, completed 33 of 56. Eleven completions went to Luke Tasker for a school-record 280 yards and a touchdown. Tasker has 47 catches for 764 yards this season. Completions of 41 and 45 yards to Tasker set up Cornell's first two fourth-quarter touchdowns for a 34-23 lead. Both drives ended with short runs by Silas Nacita, who rushed for four touchdowns. Kyle Frazier completed 35 of 45 passes for 451 yards and four touchdowns and is now second in career passing yards for the Hawks (3-3) with 6,275. - AP Sports
