05/13/14 - Indianapolis Colts Agree to Terms with 19 Undrafted Free Agents: Cornerback Qua Cox, 6-0, 185 pounds, finished his senior season at Jackson State with 32 tackles and 12 passes defensed, which earned him a place on the Sports Network Buck Buchanan Award watch list. As a junior in 2012, he led the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) with five interceptions and was third in the league with 13 passes defensed. Cox also finished fifth on the team in tackles (50), while contributing five tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. As a sophomore in 2011, he led started all 11 games and led the team with three interceptions to go along with 35 tackles. His older brother, James Patrick, spent three seasons in the NFL, two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2005-06) and one with the New England Patriots (2007). - Indianapolis Colts

Cox finished the season with 32 tackles (11th on team) and six pass break-ups (2nd on team). The senior from Tuskegee, Alabama was named to the 2013 Sports Network Buck Buchanan and the 2013 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) preseason watch lists. Cox entered the season as one of the top players in HBCU football. In 2012 he recorded five interceptions to go along with 50 tackles. 07/23/13 - 2013 PRESEASON SWAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR (COACHES/SIDS): Qua Cox (DB) - Jackson State...Last year, Cox led the SWAC with five interceptions leading JSU (7-5) for a consecutive season. He helped the Tigers pick up five consecutive wins to close the regular season en route to winning the Eastern Division with an appearance in the SWAC Football Championship. Cox led the JSU defensive backs with eight pass break-ups and 13 passes defended.
He closed the year with 50 tackles (36 solo) including five for a loss and two sacks on a defensive unit that led the league in sacks with 43. He was named to the All-SWAC First Team at the end of the regular season. For the preseason, Cox was placed on the watch lists for the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) and The Sports Network (TSN).
