Draft Scout Antonio Garcia News
01/25/17 - 2017 SENIOR BOWL, TUESDAY: A prospect who entered the week with considerable buzz, Troy offensive tackle Antonio Garcia (6-6, 293, 33-inch arms) had an up-and-down practice. On a positive note, he showed the hand strength to halt and control edge rushers in one-on-ones. But he also struggled with speed, lunging and getting off balance mid-shuffle. Garcia showed several of the concerns that also show on his game film -- concerns that won't keep him from being a future pro, but issues with his core strength and technique that need addressed before he is ready for consistent NFL snaps. - Rob Rang & Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
01/25/17 - 2017 SENIOR BOWL, TUESDAY: Offensive tackles Antonio "Tony" Garcia (Troy) and Forrest Lamp (Western Kentucky) stand out on tape as two of the better blockers on this year's roster but the weigh-in process was not kind to either. The 6-6 3/8, 293-pound Garcia possesses a relatively narrow waist for an offensive linemen, which raises questions about his ability to add and maintain "good" weight, as well as hold up to the powerful bull-rushers he will face in the NFL. The compactly-built Lamp is the polar opposite at 6-3 3/4, 305 pounds but he possesses the shortest arms of any offensive lineman in Mobile at just 31 1/8, virtually guaranteeing that he will be projected inside to guard or center for most teams. - Rob Rang & Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
12/26/16 - 2016 ALL-SUN BELT FIRST TEAM (COACHES/MEDIA): Antonio Garcia, Troy, Sr., OL, Graduate Studies,...Garcia has not allowed a sack in nearly 900 offensive snaps to lead an offensive line that ranks first in the country in fewest sacks allowed. Frye leads the Sun Belt and ranks 13th nationally averaging 27.9 yards per kickoff return and Chunn leads the league with 1,457 all-purpose yards this year. - Troy Football
12/21/15 - 2015 SUN BELT HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES/MEDIA): Antonio Garcia (Troy, Jr., OL, Criminal Justice)...Garcia, a junior from Atlanta, played almost every snap at left tackle this season and allowed just three sacks all year. - Troy Football
