Draft Scout Fabian Moreau News
05/26/17 - CB Fabian Moreau, a third-round pick, signed with the Washington Redskins on Friday. Moreau, 23, is recovering from a torn pectoral muscle he suffered at his pro day in March. He is expected to make a full return to the field sometime in late August or early September. The cornerback out of UCLA was projected to be selected in the first or second round before the injury and went 81st overall to the Redskins. In 2016, he made 31 tackles with 12 passes defensed and two interceptions for the Bruins.
03/26/17 - UCLA Pro day: The Bruins boast two potential first-round picks in edge rusher Takkarist McKinley and cornerback Fabian Moreau. Unfortunately, both are currently ailing. McKinley underwent surgery a few weeks ago on his shoulder. As such, he was unable to do anything other than have conversations with scouts Tuesday. Moreau was not expected to do much either after a spectacular showing at the East-West Shrine Game and combine, but he was limited even more after suffering an apparent pectoral injury while competing in the bench press. Bruins head coach Jim Mora eased concerns following the workout, telling the assembled media that Moreau's injury was "being evaluated. I don't think it is anything serious."
If Mora is correct, Moreau has a chance to sneak into the first round. The 6-foot, 206-pound senior cornerback wowed scouts at the combine with one of the more impressive workouts from any player, registering a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, a 38-inch vertical and 11-foot-3 broad jump -- each among the most explosive of any cornerback tested. Better yet, Moreau's athleticism translates well on the football field, where his light feet, fluid change of direction and easy acceleration helped him emerge as a legitimate lockdown cornerback in 2016. Reportedly given a Day 3 grade by scouts heading into the season, Moreau has risen to No. 3 among cornerbacks on NFLDraftScout.com's board, behind only Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore and Alabama's Marlon Humphrey. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
12/17/16 - 2016 ALL-PAC-12 CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Fabian Moreau, Sr.,...Earning honorable mention this season were WR Darren Andrews, DB Randall Goforth, DB Fabian Moreau, DL Eddie Vanderdoes, DB Jaleel Wadood. - UCLA Football
09/22/15 - UCLA regains DB but lose one to injury...Ninth-ranked UCLA gained a defensive back and lost one on Tuesday. The Bruins reinstated Ishmael Adams to the team after he was arrested last month in connection with the theft of a Uber driver's phone, but Fabian Moreau has a foot injury that will sideline him for the remainder of the season. Moreau, who had eight tackles and one pass breakup through three games this season, sustained a Lisfranc injury. The senior has the option to apply to the NCAA for a sixth-year medical redshirt. "He's a three-year starting corner," UCLA coach Jim Mora said. "A great player in my opinion -- an NFL corner, no doubt. ... It's a huge blow. Huge blow. You lose Eddie Vanderdoes and you lose Fabian Moreau, that's pretty significant. But that's part of this game." UCLA plays at No. 16 Arizona on Saturday in a Pac-12 South game. - The Sports Xchange
