Draft Scout Marshall Taylor News
08/22/16 - Auburn cornerback Marshall Taylor has rejoined the program after missing the first 19 practices of August due to injuries suffered at a party in Columbus, Ga., according to a report by AL.com.
Taylor attended a party with former teammate Jovon Robinson, who was dismissed from the team Aug. 3, but Tigers coach Gus Malzahn had indicated Taylor would return to the team this week. Taylor is a graduate transfer from Miami University in Ohio with one year of eligibility remaining, and is expected to return to practice for the first time on Tuesday, according to the report. He will need to practice four times before participating in full-pad drills, meaning his first potential full practice will come less than one week before the season opener.
"We'll just have to wait and see how everything progresses," Malzahn said on Saturday, per AL.com. "It's hard to say right now."
Taylor had 39 tackles and two interceptions last season, but the Cordele, Ga. native is not currently listed on the Tigers' two-deep depth chart. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound Taylor is rated as the No. 85 senior cornerback prospect in the country by NFLDraftScout.com. -- The Sports Xchange
