Spencer finished second in the country with 26 tackles for loss. If he can run in the 4.6s, there may be talk about his potential as an outside linebacker, which should cause his stock to skyrocket.  Did not do agility drills, just ran 40.

 Draft Scout Anthony Spencer News
09/01/14 - DE Anthony Spencer will not play in the Sept. 7 season opener as he continues to rehab from microfracture surgery. But he is on the final roster after being moved from the active/physically unable to perform list to add him to the 53-man roster. Spencer is ahead of schedule in his rehab and could be ready by Week 2. The Cowboys didn't want to put Spencer on short-term injured reserved cause it would have knocked out for the first eight games of the season.
08/26/14 - DE Anthony Spencer won't be ready for the season opener but he will be placed on the active roster and will not but placed on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. Spencer is recovering from microfracture surgery and was placed on PUP to start camp. If he was on PUP to start the season, he would miss at least the first six games of the season. He won't be ready for the opener but the Cowboys think he can be ready by the second week of the season. "I can assure you, at this time, as close as we are to Week 1, he won't be ready," owner Jerry Jones said. "But he will be on our active 53-man roster. And we wouldn't be doing that if we weren't planning on him being on the field immediately. "He's progressed at a surprisingly fast pace. I would say not Week 1, but there's a possibility that any time after that he could feel good enough about his repairs. ... We feel like that has completely grown in the way that that injury heals. It's a question of him feeling good about his cuts. He's in great shape. We certainly know that he could give us a lift earlier than we had planned."
07/25/14 - DE Anthony Spencer (knee) was declared active/physically unable to perform by the Cowboys Thursday (July 25).
06/13/14 - DE Anthony Spencer began light running for the first time since having microfracture knee surgery. Spencer is confident his comeback from the surgery will have a happy ending, with him on the field at some point in the 2014 season. "I'm sure some other people have their doubts, but I don't have any doubts, no," Spencer said. He said he could open training camp on the physically unable to perform list. Active/PUP would allow him to return to practice any time before final cuts. Reserve/PUP would force him to miss the first six games. Spencer said his rehab has him convinced he will be back. "Because of the progress that I see, I've seen not being able to walk to being able to walk to being able to run," he said. "I feel good about it." Spencer, who played only 34 snaps last season before undergoing surgery, is encouraged because of the work he has done running of late. But he knows he has a long way to go. "It's one thing to be able to run and then another whole thing to play football, so I've got a little ways to go," Spencer, 30, said. "But it's progress."
04/30/14 - DE Anthony Spencer was re-signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Cowboys April 28.
