09/25/13 - The Dallas Cowboys placed starting defensive end Anthony Spencer on season-ending injured reserve and picked up cornerback Chris Greenwood from the Detroit Lions' practice squad on Wednesday.
Spencer faces surgery on his left knee, said his agent, Jordon Woy. It is the same knee that underwent surgery two months ago.
The 29-year-old Spencer missed all of the preseason after the first surgical procedure before he returned to play in the opener against the New York Giants. He injured the knee again during a Week 2 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

It will be up to Spencer whether he has season-ending surgery on his troublesome left knee. He said last week he didn't think it was needed. It's not known what changed, but Spencer said he had dull pain in his knee after the game in Kansas City.
09/20/13 - DE Anthony Spencer practiced on a limited basis on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice as he continues to manage his surgically repaired knee. The knee is not healthy and won't be for some time. But Spencer will continue to play through the injury on Sunday against the Rams. Look for him to again play obvious passing downs though he will still a few snaps in the regular defense if necessary.
