Draft Scout *Ezekiel Elliott News
09/18/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott ran into a defensive buzz-saw and was limited to 8 yards rushing on nine carries.
"We just couldn't get any movement on the ball and establish the running game," Elliott said. "It's frustrating but it's Week 2. We've just got to go back and watch the film and rebuild, make sure we are getting better."
Still, asked the last time he had been held to less than 10 yards rushing in a game, Ezekiel replied "Never."
09/18/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott will continue playing after a judge denied the NFL's appeal for a stay of the preliminary suspension injunction. Judge Amos Mazzant's ruling Monday in Texas means the case will now move to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, where the NFL has already filed an appeal in the case. Elliott, 22, was suspended six games by the NFL on Aug. 11 following a 13-month league investigation that he had multiple physical confrontations in the summer of 2016 in Ohio with his girlfriend at the time.
09/11/17 - RB Ezekial Elliott, playing after an injunction filed against the NFL allowed him to start the season despite a six-game suspension for domestic violence, rushed for 104 yards on 24 carries in the Cowboys win over the Giants. "I talked to him, I knew he was excited," quarterback Dak Prescott said. "He was ready to get out there, put some of this other stuff behind him and just go be with his team and play a good game tonight." Elliott also caught fve passes for 36 yards.
09/08/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys won in court on Friday when U.S. District Court judge Amos Mazzant III granted a request by the NFL Players Association for a temporary restraining order to prevent the implementation of his six-game suspension. Elliott's suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy was set to begin on Monday, one day after he was eligible to compete in the Cowboys' season-opening game against the NFC East rival New York Giants. With the injunction, Elliott likely will be able to continue playing as the legal process plays out. Elliott, who was not arrested nor charged in the case, maintained his innocence after being accused of assaulting his former girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson. The original punishment was issued by Goodell on Aug. 11 after a 13-month investigation.
09/06/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension for alleged domestic violence was upheld an arbitrator, but he is eligible to play in Week 1.
Elliott's legal team said in a statement: "We are extremely disappointed with Mr. Henderson's inability to navigate through league politics, and follow the evidence and, most importantly, his conscious."
The NFL Players Association previously filed a restraining order seeking to block any suspension for Elliott, and a judge is due to rule on by 5 p.m. CDT on Friday, NFL.com reported.
