Draft Scout *Ezekiel Elliott News
11/15/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott has withdrawn his appeal of his six-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, his agents announced in a statement on Wednesday. Elliott sat out the first game of his suspension in Sunday's 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 22-year-old will be eligible to return to the Cowboys (5-4) on Christmas Eve against the Seattle Seahawks.
11/15/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott continues to maintain his innocence against domestic violence allegations made by former girlfriend Tiffany Thompson.
But he has finally accepted the reality of having no chance of winning a legal fight in federal court against the NFL in hopes of getting a six-game suspension overturned and hopefully clearing his name.
In a statement through his lawyers, Rocky Arceneaux and Frank Salzano, Elliott announced Wednesday that he was foregoing any further appeals and will serve the remaining suspension.
11/13/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott plans to spend time out of the country to clear his head and train during his six-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, per a source.
That confirmed an earlier report by the NFL Network. Elliott hopes to take a page out the Tom Brady playbook. The New England Patriots quarterback spent a week in Italy during his four-game suspension in 2016. Elliott, however, has yet to depart for his out of the country trip. He was spotted grocery shopping in Frisco before Sunday's game between the Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons.
11/09/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott had his latest legal motion denied by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York on Thursday, meaning his six-game NFL suspension is back in effect. Elliott is slated to begin his suspension when the Cowboys visit the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The NFL Players Association is expected to request an expedited appeal of Thursday's decision but the suspension began immediately upon the court's ruling. If the suspension sticks, Elliott will next be eligible to play against the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 24.
11/03/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott of the Cowboys is granted a stay and will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York granted the request for an administrative stay to the NFL Players Association on behalf of Elliott. With his six-game suspension on hold once again, the 22-year-old Elliott arrived at the Cowboys' practice facility Friday morning. He was not with the team on Wednesday and Thursday, per league rules. He is cleared only through Sunday's game against Chiefs and he will be suspended again heading into the Nov. 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons if another ruling is not in his favor. A panel of federal judges will convene next week to hear Elliott's request for an injunction that overturns Judge Katherine Polk Failla's ruling from Monday.
