Draft Scout *Ezekiel Elliott News
07/19/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott had the investigation into his alleged assault suspended on Wednesday by the Dallas Police Department, which cited a lack of witnesses and an inability to contact the victim. "(The Dallas Police Department has) made several attempts to contact the victim through various ways but at this time have not been able to make contact," the police said in a statement. The alleged incident occurred at Clutch Bar in Dallas late Sunday night and left a 30-year-old man hospitalized with a nose injury, according to a police report. No arrests were made, and police did not name any suspects.
07/18/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott is appealing a misdemeanor conviction for a speeding citation issued in early April, according to court documents. Elliott's Dodge Charger was clocked on April 4 at 100 mph in Frisco, Texas, a clear 30 mph above the speed limit on the Dallas North Tollway. The appeal bond was posted Friday and the case was forwarded to the Collin County, Texas, court on Monday, the Dallas Morning News reported.
07/17/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys was involved in a late-night altercation at a Dallas bar, according to multiple reports Monday morning. A Dallas Police Department spokesperson told Mike Fisher of 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas and ESPN's Adam Schefter that no arrests were made in connection with the incident, which took place at the Clutch Bar and Restaurant on Sunday night. A source also confirmed to the Dallas Morning News that Elliott was involved in the altercation. Elliott, 21, and a bouncer reportedly were involved in the incident. Officers were dispatched to the bar around 9:40 p.m. and a 30-year-old man said he was physically assaulted but could not identify who assaulted him, according to Dallas police. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
07/14/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott is expected to respond next week to a report from the NFL on the league investigation into a 2016 domestic violence accusation for which the Dallas Cowboys' star could face a one- or two-game suspension. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the possibility of suspension Friday although the NFL denied it made a decision on a course of disciplinary action. Schefter said the sense around the Cowboys was a "short" suspension would be levied. The NFL personal conduct policy affords the option of up to a six-game suspension for first-time offenders even if they're not convicted of a crime or face legal punishment. The length of the suspension can be reduced based on mitigating factors. In July 2016, Elliott was questioned by authorities. But even after Elliott, 21, was cleared of any legal wrongdoing after the Columbus, Ohio, city prosecutor's office determined there wasn't enough substance to pursue charges after a lengthy investigation, the NFL began its own probe and declined a status update in January and again in February during commissioner Roger Goodell's state of the league address in Houston.
05/31/17 - RB Ezekiel Elliott is practicing again during the second week of Cowboys' organized team activities. Elliott was held out of last week's OTAs after being involved in a minor car accident as a passenger, but returned to the practice field this week. "Zeke loves to practice," coach Jason Garrett said. "He loves football. He is champing at the bit. Even when he couldn't practice last week he was involved in the walk throughs. You can see the passion in his face and the bounce in his step. He loves being out there and he is getting better and better every day." Elliott, 21, is coming off a terrific rookie season in which he led the NFL in rushing with 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns.
