 Draft Scout News
03/26/17 - Missouri Pro day: He won’t generate the same sort of attention as Thursday’s skill position talent, but talented edge rusher Charles Harris certainly boosted his chances at earning a first-round selection. The 6-3, 253-pound Harris added 5 1/2 inches to the 32-inch vertical jump he posted in Indianapolis and was clocked at 7.05 seconds in the three-cone drill. Even better, his explosiveness and competitiveness were just as obvious during positional drills, which were run by a member of the Lions -- a club looking for a complement to former first-round pick Ziggy Ansah. The trademark burst that helped Harris record 16 sacks over the past two seasons against SEC completion was clear during pass rush drills, as was his balance and flexibility while running the arc. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
12/19/16 - 2016 ALL-SEC FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DL Charles Harris, Missouri,...Harris had a standout season as a junior to cap an impressive career at Mizzou. Harris tallied team-bests in sacks (9.0), tackles for loss (12.0) and QB hurries (10) while adding 61 tackles, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and two pass break-ups. His 61 tackles were second on the team from his DE spot. His 9.0 sacks were tied for third in the SEC and his 12.0 tackles for loss were tied for 10th in the SEC. He was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week on Nov. 14 following a 2.5 sack performance in Mizzou's 26-17 win over Vanderbilt on Nov. 12. Harris finished his Mizzou career ranked seventh in program history with 18.0 sacks and 12th in school history with his 34.5 tackles for loss. - Missouri Football
12/01/16 - DE Charles Harris announced Thursday he will declare for the 2017 NFL draft and forgo his senior season. Projected as a potential first-round draft pick, Harris is ranked as the 27th-best prospect overall by NFLDraftScout.com and the fifth best defensive end prospect.
12/01/16 - University of Missouri junior DE Charles Harris (Kansas City, Mo.) will bypass his final year of eligibility and make himself available for the 2017 NFL Draft. Harris made the announcement today in a press conference held at the Mizzou Athletics Training Complex. Harris came to Mizzou as a virtually unheralded recruit, and developed into one of the top collegiate defensive ends in the nation. He had a breakout season along the defensive line on one of the nation's top defenses in 2015, leading the SEC in tackles for loss (18.5) while posting seven sacks. He earned All-SEC Second Team honors.

Heralded as the next great player along #DLineZou heading into the 2016 season, Harris earned preseason All-SEC honors and was named to five preseason award watch lists. His play on the field did not disappoint as he finished 2016 with 9.0 sacks (26th nationally), 12.0 tackles for loss, 10 QB hurries and was second on the team with 61 tackles. He will finish his Mizzou career ranked seventh in program history with 18.0 sacks and 12th in school history with his 34.5 tackles for loss. Harris is another in a long line of Mizzou standouts to declare for the NFL Draft early. Other notables include Kony Ealy (second round, 2014), Blaine Gabbert (first round, 2011), Jeremy Maclin (first round, 2009), Shane Ray (first round, 2015), Sheldon Richardson (first round, 2013) and Aldon Smith (first round, 2011). - Missouri Football

11/14/16 - NOV 14 SEC DEFENSIVE LINEMAN OF THE WEEK: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri...Had a very impactful and disruptive day as he helped lead Mizzou to a much-needed 26-17 win at home over Vanderbilt, breaking Mizzou's 5-game losing streak (and 11-game conference losing streak). Ended the game with 9 tackles, including 2.5 QB sacks, and 3.5 tackles for loss in all...Also forced a fumble on one of his sacks, while getting loose for a pair of QB pressures...Vanderbilt had allowed only 15 sacks on the season in 9 previous games coming into Saturday, but Harris and his line mates were very effective, as they combined for 6.0 sacks total, for 41 yards in losses...Harris ranks 4th in the SEC through 10 games with 8.0 QB sacks, and is also 7th in the league in tackles for loss (11.0). - SEC Football
