 Draft Scout Eddie Jackson News
10/22/17 - S Eddie Jackson became the first player in league history to score two defensive touchdowns of at least 75 yards in the same game. Both of Jackson's touchdowns took place in the first half as he scored on a 75-yard fumble return and a 76-yard interception return. The outburst came in the sixth game for the rookie, who broke his leg one year ago to the day as a member of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
09/06/17 - S Eddie Jackson (groin) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday after the rookie from Alabama was named to the starting safety spot opposite veteran Quintin Demps. Jackson beat out veteran Adrian Amos, a starter the last two years and is the only rookie in the starting lineup. "What we saw in the draft is his ball skills jump out right away, but he's got natural instincts and anticipation," general manager Ryan Pace said. "That's something back there that we've been looking at for a while now, and I think he pairs really well with Demps. We kind of got the savvy vet with Demps and the emerging rookie with Jackson." Jackson had been competing for punt returner, as well, but that role is going to nickel corner Bryce Callahan. Callahan beat out Cre'Von LeBlanc for the starting nickel spot.
05/12/17 - S Eddie Jackson of Alabama, the Bears' fourth-round pick, wasn't ready to participate in full because he's still rehabbing from a broken leg. "I think he's feeling better," coach John Fox said. "He's still in part of his rehab as far as timeline. We did some things with him but we're going to make sure he's healed and ready before we put him out there."
12/19/16 - 2016 ALL-SEC FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM (COACHES): DB Eddie Jackson, Alabama,...Senior tight end O.J. Howard and sophomore wide receiver Calvin Ridley were named to the second-team offense while senior linebacker Tim Williams and senior defensive back Eddie Jackson were named to the second-team defense. - Alabama Football
10/23/16 - Alabama coach Nick Saban says star safety Eddie Jackson is out for the season with a fractured leg. Jackson didn't return to the top-ranked Crimson Tide's 33-14 win Saturday over No. 6 Texas A&M following a fourth-quarter punt return. Fans chanted "Eddie" as Jackson was taken into the locker room on a cart moments after the Tide scored its final touchdown. Jackson was one of the Tide's defensive leaders and a playmaker on both defense and special teams. He has scored touchdowns on two punt returns and an interception return this season. Saban says Jackson is an All-American safety "in my book and we're certainly going to miss him." Jackson's 17-yard return into Texas A&M territory had set up the final touchdown. - AP Sports
