 Draft Scout Kevin Kolb News
04/08/13 - Even though the Buffalo Bills have missed the postseason 13 consecutive years, new quarterback Kevin Kolb said his goal is to win. The Bills announced Monday that Kolb officially signed a free agent contract with the team. The two sides agreed to the deal on Saturday. It is a two-year contract worth up to $13 million, according to multiple reports. The Bills' drought is the longest in the NFL. They are coming off a 6-10 season, their eighth straight losing record. "I'm here to win the Super Bowl. Period," Kolb said Monday at a press conference introducing him. Kolb's main competition for the starting job is Tavaris Jackson. Kolb's record as a starter is 9-12. "We wanted to add some veteran experience to the quarterback position on our roster and we think we've added a good one by signing Kevin," general manager Buddy Nix said in a statement. "He's a player we had targeted since he became a free agent and he should be a strong candidate in the competition for the starting quarterback position." Kolb spent the past two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, where he threw for 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions after being acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles. He was sacked a combined 57 times in those two seasons. "There's very limited opportunities in this league," Kolb said. "I've been lucky enough to have a few of them; hopefully I have another one here. I plan on taking 100 percent care of that and making sure I do my part to play at the highest level."
04/02/13 - The Buffalo Bills and quarterback Kevin Kolb agreed to a two-year contract Saturday night. The deal is worth a maximum $13 million and as ESPN suggests probably means Kolb will be handed the starting position in Buffalo. His main competition in Buffalo will be Tavaris Jackson, who the Bills signed in Februry. Kolb's record as a starter is 9-12. He spent the past two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals where threw for 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in two year. The 28-year-old threw for 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in two seasons with the Cardinals after being acquired from the Eagles. During his career in Arizona, he was sacked 57 times. Kolb was a 2007 second-round pick of Philadelphia out of the University of Houston. The New York Jets and Oakland Raiders also showed interest in signing Kolb.
12/12/12 - QB Kevin Kolb was placed on injured reserve because of detached ribs and a shoulder sprain.
12/11/12 - QB Kevin Kolb missed his seventh game with detached ribs and a sprained shoulder joint. He increased his workload in practice last week, but it's questionable if he'll play against the Lions this week.
12/06/12 - QB Kevin Kolb remains out with detached ribs and a sprained shoulder joint. He's practicing on a limited basis but it doesn't appear as if he will play against the Seahawks.
