Draft Scout *Teez Tabor News
12/11/17 - CB Teez Tabor played a career-high 39 snaps Sunday as the Lions used their second-round pick regularly in their new nickel package.
09/12/17 - CB Teez Tabor, the Lions' second-round pick out of Florida, was one of the Lions' seven inactives against the Cardinals. Given the way cornerbacks Darius Slay, Nevin Lawson, D.J. Hayden and Quandre Diggs played Sunday, it might be a while before Tabor sees the field.
07/30/17 - CB Teez Tabor and T Cyrus Kouandjio both came off the NFI list before Sunday's first practice. Kouandjio, who signed with the Lions on the last day of minicamp in June, took first-team reps at left tackle with Taylor Decker and Greg Robinson out. Decker will miss the first half or so of the season as he recovers from labrum surgery. Robinson came off the list Sunday, but didn't participate in team drills.
03/29/17 - Florida cornerback Jalen "Teez" Tabor wants NFL coaches, general managers and scouts to forget everything he's done the last two months. The 40-yard dash, the vertical leap, the broad jump, the shuttle run, the cone drill, the bench press, flush them all. Tabor believes there's only one way to truly evaluate his talent. "Just press play," Tabor said after Florida's annual pro day Tuesday. "Just press play, you know what I mean? That's what I do. I'm pretty sure I've got more picks than a lot of the top guys. I'm pretty sure I've got more touchdowns, probably more touchdowns than they got picks. I don't get it. They say I'm slow, but I'm not getting beat that way and I'm beating people back this way."
Tabor was widely considered a first-round draft pick heading into the NFL combine earlier this month, but less-than-impressive workout numbers have his stock plummeting. He had hoped to rebound on campus Tuesday, but he was actually slower in the 40-yard dash. Tabor, who clocked a 4.62 in Indianapolis, ran in the 4.7s inside Florida's practice facility. The ultra-confident defensive back seemed unfazed by his latest performance, even though it could cost him millions. "I'm not a track guy," Tabor said. "If we were trying out for the Olympics, I wouldn't be here. The thing is we're going to the NFL. I'm catching picks and running back this way, jamming people at the line. So I'm a good football player. "When it comes 53 yards this way and 120 yards this way, I'm the best. Now, you line me up, I might not beat you in the race, but reading routes and all that stuff, it's no question." - AP Sports
01/05/17 - Florida CB Tabor entering NFL draft...Florida cornerback Jalen "Teez" Tabor took to The Players Tribune on Thursday to announce his plans to forgo his senior season and declare for the 2017 NFL draft. Tabor is the second member of the Gators' secondary and third teammate this week to announce his intentions to enter the draft. Fellow starting cornerback Quincy Wilson and offensive tackle David Sharpe revealed their plans on Tuesday. Tabor, who is considered the No. 2 cornerback and a top-15 overall pick by NFLDraftScout.com, was named first-team All-SEC in each of his last two seasons. He recorded 33 tackles, a team-high four interceptions and six pass breakups in 12 regular-season games this season.
"I write to you today to say that I'm ready to begin the next chapter in my life. I have decided to forgo my senior year and declare for the NFL draft," Tabor wrote. "But I cannot say goodbye without first saying thank you. I am forever grateful for the University of Florida and every member of the amazing Gator community. Tabor thanked his coaches, teammates, academic advisers and fans in his lengthy letter. Tabor hasn't always made positive headlines, however, as he was suspended for the season opener following a fight with teammate C'yontai Lewis during practice. Tabor also was handed a one-game suspension in 2015 for violating University Athletic Association policy. - The Sports Xchange
