 Draft Scout Quinton Flowers News
12/29/17 - 2017 ALL-AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM (COACHES): QB Quinton Flowers, USF, Sr.,...Flowers shattered USF records in the Bulls' final regular season game vs. UCF as he logged 605 total yards and 503 passing yards, both performances ranking among the best in conference history. Flowers ranks second in the conference in total offense (324.7 ypg), third in points responsible for per game (17.1 ppg), fifth in rushing (88.4 ypg), sixth in rushing TD (10), fifth in passing (236.4 ypg) and fourth in passing TD (21). He became USF's all-time career total yardage leader with 11,385 yards, placing him just 46 yards shy of the American Athletic Conference career record of 11,431 held by Temple quarterback Philip Walker (2013-16). Flowers' 2,600 yards passing on the season stand just 311 yards shy of the USF season record of 2,911 yards by Matt Grothe in 2008. - South Florida Football
12/23/17 - South Florida quarterback Quinton Flowers is now the American Athletic Conference career leader in total offense. Flowers broke the record of 11,431 yards on a 21-yard touchdown pass to Tyre McCants late in the first half of the Birmingham Bowl against Texas Tech. He came in needing just 47 yards to break the record held by Temple's Phillip Walker. Before that touchdown pass, which tied the game 10-all at halftime, he had been 3-of-13 passing for 31 yards. It also gave him the school record for career touchdown passes with 68 to break a tie with Marquel Blackwell. Flowers entered his final college game with 2,600 passing yards and a team-best 972 rushing yards this season. He threw for the winning 25-yard touchdown in overtime to beat South Carolina in last year's Birmingham Bowl. - AP College Football
12/23/17 - Quinton Flowers' record-setting career ended with the dynamic South Florida quarterback providing big play after big play. It also ended with him hoisting the Birmingham Bowl trophy after his 26-yard touchdown pass to Tyre McCants provided the game-winning points with 16 seconds left in a thrilling 38-34 victory over Texas Tech. The winning touchdown came 1:15 after Texas Tech quarterback Nic Shimonek gave the Red Raiders a 34-31 lead with a 25-yard scoring toss to T.J. Vasher. It was that kind of second half. Flowers finished with 417 yards in total offense and accounted for five touchdowns. Shimonek threw for 416 yards and three touchdowns.

Texas Tech (6-7) controlled a large portion of the first half, outgainin the Bulls, 249-130, but the teams went into halftime tied at 10. The teams traded field goals on each opening drive. Texas Tech took a 10-3 lead late in the first quarter on a 5-yard strike from Shimonek to Keke Coutre, who had six first-half catches for 97 yards and finished with 11 catches for 187 yards. Texas Tech threatened again late in the half but a promising drive ended when USF safety Jaymon Thomas intercepted a tipped pass in the end zone and returned it to the 18-yard line. The Bulls managed to tie the score with just under a minute left on a two-play drive that was set up by a shanked 15-yard punt by Texas Tech's Dominic Panazzolo. - The Sports Xchange

11/27/17 - NOV 27 AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Quinton Flowers, Sr., QB USF Miami, Fla.,...Flowers accounted for a career-high 605 yards of total offense with five total touchdowns in the Bulls' 49-42 setback to No. 13/12 UCF in their regular-season finale. Flowers completed 24 of 45 passes for a career-high 503 yards and four touchdowns, while he added a game-high 102 rushing yards and a TD on 20 carries. Flowers finished the game with a USF career record of 10,875 yards of total offense and he became the sixth player in NCAA FBS history to have at least 60 passing touchdowns and 40 rushing touchdowns in a career. - American Athletic Conference Football
11/27/17 - Nov 27 Stock Report, Who helped themselves? Quinton Flowers, QB/RB, South Florida, SR. (6-0, 210, 4.54, #9)...In one of the more exciting games over Thanksgiving weekend, UCF beat South Florida 49-42 in a thrilling back-and-forth contest that showcased two talented quarterbacks. Despite the loss, Flowers impressed with school records for total yards (605) and passing yards (503), also accounting for five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing). As a passer, he has a strong arm, uncorking several explosive plays through the air. But like much of the season, his inconsistent throwing mechanics and scatter-shot accuracy led to several misses. He finished below 60-percent completions for the 10th time in 12 games this season, which is not a fluke when you watch the tape.

Where Flowers really impresses NFL scouts is with his athleticism with the ball in his hands, forcing poor pursuit angles with his burst and using his toughness to run through arm tackles. Flowers, who has been invited to the East-West Shrine Game, is expected to work out at running back and wide receiver throughout the draft process and could be drafted based on how he does at those new positions, similar to Denard Robinson (2013 fifth-rounder) or Keenan Reynolds (2016 sixth-rounder). - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
