Last season Sperry, the rookie who was activated off the practice squad Saturday to take Anthony Fasano's place, enjoyed a rousing debut. He had three catches for 31 yards, including his first career touchdown. Sperry was euphoric afterward. "The way I approached it is you never know what tomorrow is going to hold. You can get hurt, you can get released. It's just a business," he told the Palm Beach Post. "This is what I always dreamed of. I never expected to be here. And when they gave me the chance, I didn't want to let it go."

03/11/09 - Colorado State Pro day: Seven NFL teams came to watch 10 prospects workout indoors on FieldTurf. Sperry, who posted outstanding times at last month's NFL combine, several of which were the best performances among invited tight ends, chose not to participate in any of the tests Tuesday. He did catch passes from Farris, and ran routes, at the end of the day. Representatives from the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos, as well as longtime scout Kent McCloughan from the Oakland Raiders, were in attendance.
