He completed 77 percent of his passes (20 of 26) for 248 yards, an average of 9.5 yards an attempt. He threw three touchdown passes, giving him seven on the season, and he went another game without throwing an interception.
09/24/14 - QB Alex Smith will be making his first appearance against the Patriots with his scheduled start on Monday night. The Chiefs victory over Miami last Sunday pushed Smith's record as a starting quarterback in the last four seasons to 31-11-1, a .733 winning percentage.
09/21/14 - QB Alex Smith threw three touchdown passes in the Chiefs' 34-15 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Smith made a couple of mistakes -- a lost fumble and a safety -- but he was efficient throwing the ball, completing 19 of 25 passes for 186 yards. He was not intercepted. It was a typically efficient Smith performance, one in which he checked down to running backs and found tight ends repeatedly.

09/07/14 - QB Alex Smith has now had two consecutive horrible performances at Arrowhead Stadium. The first came in the last home game of the 2013 season when he threw an interception, averaged 5.3 yards an attempt and posted a passer rating of 41.2 in a game No. 15 loss to Indianapolis.
In Sunday's regular-season opener against Tennessee, Smith threw three interceptions and posted a 45.2 passer rating in losing to the Titans.
"We failed to get into any type of rhythm with the run and the pass," Smith said after the game.
