Draft Scout *Aaron Rodgers News
09/28/14 - QB Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of 28 passes for 302 yards and four touchdowns and the Green Bay defense, which was shredded for more than 300 yards before halftime, held Chicago scoreless and made a pair of interceptions to dominate the second half. The Packers were so efficient that, early in the fourth quarter, they had scored their 38 points while running only 41 plays on offense.
09/21/14 - QB Aaron Rodgers had an unusually quiet outing, passing for just 162 yards and not having a completion of more than 18 yards. The Packers had their lowest point total in a game that Rodgers started and also finished since Rodgers became a starting quarterback. He misfired on a potential fourth-down touchdown pass to Jordy Nelson during the fourth quarter that could have gotten the Packers back in the game. "We haven't been as sharp offensively," Rodgers said. "I haven't been as sharp. It may be the standard I've set but we've all got to do better."
09/15/14 - QB Aaron Rodgers jumped ahead of Pro Football Hall of Famer Bart Starr for second place on the Packers' all-time list for passing yards. Rodgers threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns on 25-for-42 passing as Green Bay overcame an early 18-point deficit to win 31-24 over the New York Jets on Sunday. Rodgers has 24,732 career passing yards, eclipsing Starr's total of 24,718. Brett Favre is the club's runaway leader with 61,655 passing yards.
09/14/14 - QB Aaron Rodgers posted the biggest comeback of his career (18 points) and past Bart Starr for second place in franchise history in passing yards. He has 24,732 career passing yards. Brett Favre leads the way with 61,655 -- almost 21 miles more than Rodgers. "It's an honor to be mentioned in the same sentence with him," Rodgers said of Starr, who recently suffered a stroke. "I wish him the best. We're thinking and praying for him. Personally, you know him and I have become close over the last few years and it's been hard seeing him go through this."
08/29/14 - QB Aaron Rodgers, as expected, didn't play the final preseason game Thursday night, a 34-14 win over the visiting Kansas City Chiefs. With the Packers set to play the first game of the 2014 NFL schedule a week later at the reigning Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks, head coach Mike McCarthy held out 17 healthy starters from Thursday's game, including Rodgers, halfback Eddie Lacy, receivers Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson, outside linebackers Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers and all but one (rookie center Corey Linsley) of the five offensive linemen.
